Flawless Airport Property

Sep 21st, 2020

qStay Report - 9/18 - 9/19 Location: the hotel is located near where most BWI airport hotels are located, on Nursery Road just north of the I-195/295 junction.  It's on the same block as the Holiday Inn, the Marriott, the Hilton Garden Inn and Hyatt Place to name but a few.  nearby are a number of restaurants including a Chilis, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and a Chik Fil A.  It's an easy 7 minute or so drive to BWI and the area is quiet and safe at night. Hotel: This is one of the older generation Courtyards but it's in a good state of repair.  Do note that due to COVID a lot of the services are not operational (see attached picture).  The lobby pantry is still open at least but they're sharing the shuttle with the Marriott.  It's on demand starting at 4 AM but you need to be in the lobby ten minutes before the hour/half hour you want to leave to request it.  Also due to the older style design some rooms require a long walk. Check In: I was greeted by a very friendly agent when I arrived who asked if I wanted points or a F&B credit for my Titanium Amenity and told me I'd been upgraded.  This was all very nice. Room: I had a suite on the 3rd floor which had a full living room with pull out couch, work area, kitchen area and TV.  I was also happy to see there was coffee and a coffee maker (far from a sure thing these days), separate bedroom and a good sized bathroom.  There was no bar soap though not even hand soap.  Everything was in large bottles and all liquid.  No soundproofing issues were had and Wifi worked very well. Overall this was a perfect airport stay.  I'd be back.  TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This hotel was really nice. The shuttle to hot Was quick both at pick & delivery. Both check in & check out was fast as well. The room was updated & everything worked perfectly. This was a last minute hotel due to missing my flight but it was a nice serendipity. Thank you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bold and plush hotel

Feb 18th, 2020

Superb hotel and the room was awesome. The view driving into the parking lot is pleasant. The rooms and hallway have a boutique hotel feel that I really enjoyed. Beautiful but not comfortable couch in the room. The rooms are plush. The grey color scheme makes everything look bold and clean. I was happy the room had a refrigerator mini and coffee maker. Even though two of us checked in, it was a bit disappointing to only receive one mini bottle of water for the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good stay close to BWI airport

Feb 13th, 2020

The location was perfect for me on a recent business trip. Its very close to BWI, and across the street from some good eats I.e. Potbelly, Dunkin, Chipotle, and more. The staff were friendly and accommodating - when I checked in they offered to change my room based on my past preferences. The bistro in the lobby is convenient and great for breakfast and coffee in the morning. My only complaint was that the fitness center was too small and cramped - there were 4 of us using it in the morning and that was basically capacity. All in all this is a dependable Courtyard with everything you need for business travel near the airport. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Train the Housekeepers and Desk Clerks

Jan 28th, 2020

Courtyard is my hotel of preference when traveling on business. I stay almost 100 nights per year at Marriott properties and this one was disappointing. First, when picked up my key at the front desk (I usually check in online), the desk clerk asked me if I would settle for two foam pillows when I usually request three. I told him there was reason I requested three. He then made a comment about it right in front of me to the housekeeper. How about I'm the customer and I requested them? Is that not a good enough reason? I was then greeted with the nauseating smell of a nasty vacuum bag that was well overdue for a change as I walked into my room. I used the Fa Breeze that I carry in my suitcase multiple times to no avail. After sitting in the room for hours, the smell was still overpowering. How about spending a few pennies and changing the bag before you permeate the rooms with that disgusting smell? I then set up my desk area, as always, in an 'L' shape which means I have to move my trash can so I can use it during my stay. When I did, I was greeted with the lovely sight of trash on the floor from a previous guest that apparently housekeeping could not clean up. Nastiest Courtyard I've ever seen. I won't be back, and I am writing this review so corporate might do something about the substandard service at this property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
