Good hotel, close to city center

Dec 18th, 2019

It’s a good hotel located in a quiet part of the city, about 12 minutes tram ride to the city center. Rooms are spacious, well furnished and a comfortable bed. Bathroom is large with a bath/ shower facilities. Water pressure is very good. Rooms are very quiet. There is free parking just around the corner. Hotel parking cost 18 Euro. Breakfast is reasonable with wide variety of cold and warm choices. Can be recommended as a good hotel for 1 or 2 nights during your visit to the city. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Personal service, great restaurant,

Oct 17th, 2019

I was surprised at their level of personal (caring) service from the staff, and also at the quality of their food, including variety of options, and beverages at the hotel restaurant and bar, Julian's. The location is great, and I was able to get around easily. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sometimes its all the little things that count - service here perfect - but even more so the staff where genuinely friendly and had a can do attitude- in my book this makes it one of the best hotels - i would stay here over and over again it beats many more expensive hotels TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Marriott Courtyard

Sep 20th, 2019

While this hotel is nice enough and the staff is cordial, they don’t do the little things to make the stay go from average to good or very good. For example, when checking in they told us where to park the rental car, but never explained that we could pay for parking when checking out. When leaving the next day I tried to pay for parking at the machine in the garage, however it didn’t accept credit cards so I had to go back up to the desk where I learned that I could pay with a credit card. Also, the hair dryer didn’t work in the room which is no big deal, but they told me they didn’t have another available they could bring up. I had to ask them to give us the keys to another room so my wife could dry her hair before getting on a transatlantic flight. Finally, I tried to pay with a Marriott gift card which is usually no big deal however the two people working the desk said they were new and didn’t know how to process it. There wasn’t a manager on duty at 8:15 in the morning to show them how to process it. When they called the manager at home (who not due in until 9am) she told them to photo copy the gift card and they would charge it to the gift card instead of my credit card. I sure hope this works. Ok Hotel for business travel

Sep 4th, 2019

It was my first hotel experience in Dusseldorf The room was good and the front desk and maintenance staff was professional and helpful. Restaurant Julian's Bar and Grill was terrible and that is a generous statement, Food was horrible. My friend ordered pasta with veal and the veal was tough. Service at the restaurant was very bad, The waiters did not know how to serve, brought bread when asked. We returned the pasta and were thankfully comped with desert. We thought that another dish would be better the next day. My friend ordered a burger. It was disgusting, She sent the burger back and ordered soup which was ok. On the third day I wanted to order room service but there was no room service book in the room. I went downstairs and ordered a pick up. WHe it was ready i went to pick it up only to be told that it is on a tray. I could not carry the tray, have both hands occupied and punch the elevator button, so I asked for a bag. They staff claimed that they don't have bags and that no one asked for it before. I then decided to just leave the food, told them I don't want it and left for the elevator, only to be chased by the manager to pay my bill. I told him I don't want the food any more as I cannot carry it and don't want to pay extra for room service. After several minutes of discussion the manager offered to have a helper bring the tray upstairs. Manager still claimed that no one ever asked for a bag...really? I finally got someone to help me with the meal. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
