Good overnight stay

Feb 24th, 2020

Spent one night on business. Hotel had everything you need and close to everything in the valley of colleges. The rooms were recently renovated and are adequately supplied. The gym and pool fit all the needs. My only regret was that I arrived on a Sunday night and the bistro was closed for food. Perhaps not such a bad thing as I ended up venturing downtown for a great meal! The TV in the room didn’t work. A quick call to the front desk and someone came up to fix it. He didn’t actually fix the TV, but provided a work-around to get it to work. Stated that this happens a lot in the hotel?!?! I have mixed feelings about the CY breakfast....Starbucks is not always my first choice. Menu is OK and a bit pricey. I would rather catch a bite to eat at a nearby diner. All in all, not a bad option for the area...I will stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stopover for wedding weekend

Feb 24th, 2020

We arrived Thursday for a Saturday wedding event. We were pleased with the large room but I didn't care for the hard traditional mattress after using memory foam for many years. Staff including housekeeping were great and always had a smile. The Saturday breakfast was nice and permitted great flexibility with the wedding party getting hair and makeup done too. The parking lot was nice and we usually parked pretty close to the front entrance. Our room actually overlooked a marshy scene which I am sure is always changing in the seasons. The room cleanliness was top notch as was the fitment. The rooms were quiet too. We were on the third floor. The ice machine worked well too and the elevators were fast. Being there for 4 days we were pleased to see decent luggage carts for move in-out. The Starbucks coffee bar was also a nice touch. The weekend breakfast cost was fairly priced and keeps the hotel rates down for those who do not partake. The short order chef was also ready to cook your custom omelette or such too. Nice breakfast spread and even this gluten free eater was very satisfied. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Superb service!

Jan 2nd, 2020

Great hotel in an incredibly convenient location if you have a car for visiting UMass, Amherst, etc. Staff are incredibly friendly and were incredibly accommodating as we dealt with snowstorms, crazy schedules, appointments, etc. they even clean off your car in a snowstorm! Rooms are well sized and comfortable TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One night stay

Nov 10th, 2019

Stopped here for one night while being in the area for a road race. What a beautiful hotel this is. One of a kind in typical New England style. Highly recommended! Hotel has a pool and a gym and is really close to everything. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Andrea is not nice and her communication skills and professionalism are sorely lacking

Oct 20th, 2019

One bad apple can spoil a trip, that was Andrea in our case. I visit Amherst frequently and this location is convenient. I gave this hotel another chance after a bad experience last time. Checked in late on the 19th and the keys given to us by the front desk didn't work. That's okay, stuff happens. Bought some overpriced water and snacks at the market. It's a convenient feature of the hotel. Bought breakfast at the Bistro, the staff was nice and the lattes were good. Food was good enough. Asked for late checkout and "Andrea" at the front desk "cheerily" told me that she noticed I am "only a Silver Member" and "late check out is reserved for Gold members or above". Went to the membership benefits site for Marriott Bonvoy and it clearly says that Silver Members enjoy "Priority Late Checkout". Irks me when companies advertise one thing and do another. Guess honesty in advertising is reserved for Marriott Bonvoy "Gold Members and above". TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
