We were welcomed by Kieran who was friendly and helpful and told us all the amenities and hours of restaurant, etc. the lobby is nicely decorated, cozy and we enjoyed the cold water and lemonade offered to guests. The lobby atmosphere and cleanliness does not match the room or the hallway to my room specifically the 4 th floor. As you exit the elevator, the smell is dirty and musty and extremely strong. The room smell is worse as it smells like to much toxic cleaner to cover up something. The bed is to. Dry cozy or comfortable. I just can’t get over the smell! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location, Location, Location

Jul 3rd, 2019

My wife and I had an overnight stay at Courtyard in Old Town. We were looking for a convenient location which it certainly has. Next to I 5 freeway, just steps away from the heart of Old Town, and a short jaunt to the airport. Our room was clean, efficient, and quiet- exactly what we had hoped for. The staff was accommodating, pointing out places of interest, especially in Old Town. Parking is available for a daily cost but we enjoyed the short walk into the heart of Old Town. The only negative observation I have would be musty smell in the bathroom, seemingly coming back up through the pipes, but even that seem to dissipate and we had a nice stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

solid hotel in a convenient location

Jun 29th, 2019

I have stayed at this hotel several times for business, and I always have a satisfactory experience! The staff is wonderful, from the front desk, the bartender, the restaurant staff, and the catering/banquets staff. The rooms are comfortable, and it is great that is so convenient to Old Town. You can walk to restaurants and fun shopping. The parking is easy--you can park in the hotel parking for a fee, or find street parking if you choose. It always has a nice outdoor covered patio which you can eat on, gather with friends and family to play games (provided for the hotel), or meet with business partners. I'm sure that I'll be back! Excellent Experience

Jun 28th, 2019

I began by looking for an intimate location for a few of us to stay for a larger reunion being held at the Marriot Marquis. This location turned out to be great! Walking distance to wonderful restaurants and close driving distance to most San Diego attractions. The rooms are somewhat older but the customer service more than made up for that. We started out needing accommodations for 10 people and our group grew to 30. They were most gracious in working with us to get us all in and upon arrival everyone was friendly and helpful the entire weekend. I highly recommend this Marriott for a visit to San Diego! Great Location Next to the 5 Freeway and Old Town!

Jun 18th, 2019

Courtyard San Diego Old Town is a perfect location. It's a 5-minute walk to San Diego Avenue (Old Town's main drag) and the 5 Freeway is just on the other side of the hotel. This 4-story property with an annex is very well maintained for an older building. I can tell it was remodeled within the past few years. There are 2 interior elevators to reach the rooms in the main building, the bistro serves food and drinks (pay) in the morning and evening (no afternoon service). The pools is rather small but it does the job on a hot day and there is even a whirlpool. We didn't check out much of the other amenities but there is a business center area with printers. The room was comfortable with a king bed and the bathroom was modern and the vanity sits outside the WC. The staff was friendly and they did advise that if we found street parking we would not have to pay the $25 per night (in and out privileges). We were lucky to find street parking. This was a great, comfortable stay for 2 nights. I would highly recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
