Starting to get tired!
Jul 18th, 2019
I bring a team of three (3 rooms) to San Diego about three (3) times a year and we usually try to stay at this property. Unfortunately, it has changed a bit over the years as follows: 1. Cleanliness is not as good as it used to be - hallway carpets were filthy and room itself was not the cleanest either. In fact, the first room they put me in on the third floor - it looked like the ceiling was wet from an upper floor room. 2. Parking - they now charge a whopping $19/day to park your car - again, it appears that they are just trying yet another angle to increase revenues 3. Receipts not correct - when checking out this time (and last time), my receipt included one of the in-room large bottled waters - I did not use one of these waters as I walked downstairs to get a water as the ones in the room are too big to put in my briefcase - but how did they think I used a water when I did not even have my room cleaned? I did use the refrigerator for the bottle water I got downstairs - did it trigger the charge because I used the refrigerator? 4. Marriott Points - as with last time, I did not have my room cleaned for the 2 nights that I was there but did not receive the additional Marriott points for this even though I hung the appropriate do not disturb on the door (again, even if I had used a water - they did not clean my room so how could they charge me unless they did it randomly)? - I was in room #214 for the nights of 7/15 and 7/16. On a more positive note, the breakfast was good and has always been good. In fact, the waitress has been there for all of the 10 years that we have been coming to this property and is very attentive. What we needed

Stayed here for 2 nights to attend a conference. Very clean and friendly staff. Location was good for what we needed. Walked to a restaurant near by. Walked along the walking path each morning. The barista at the cafe was super friendly! Only reason it’s not a 5 is the price. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
DO NOT STAY HERE
Jun 29th, 2019
The absolute WORST experience. I’ve traveled to many different cities, states, and countries and NEVER have had an experience like this. I was here for a friend’s wedding, who’s family booked a slot of rooms, and even with that being said, we all waited FOUR HOURS IN THE LOBBY TO GET OUR ROOMS. Not only did we REQUEST AN EARLY CHECK-IN THE DAY BEFORE but we also CAME IN BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD WE COULD GET A ROOM IF WE CAME IN EARLY. For a lack of a better description, this was a MISERABLE experience. Again, DO NOT STAY AT HERE. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not much bang for the buck.

Stayed two nights. The first night there was a family with several rooms on the same floor that went from room to room knocking on doors and talking very loud in the hallway until after midnight making it difficult to rest or sleep. The next day we spent the day at Sea World returning to our room at about 4 PM to find that we had not received any maid service. That evening we left to go to dinner, upon returning the parking lot was literally full and had to drive around until someone left to secure a parking spot. We paid $19.00 a day to park placing a permit on our mirror, at least half of the vehicles in the lot did not have the permit as they hosted two weddings on this date. On the final morning I went down to the "Bistro" which included a "Starbucks" and there was a sign stating that the establishments were closed due to management issues until further notice. Very disappointing stay as the two nights including parking cost $640.00. Find Somewhere else to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Going the Extra Mile Always

I always stay here when traveling out of San Diego and have never been disappointed. May 28 I was to fly out on an international flight at 6:00 AM, but upon arriving at the airport I was told I couldn't fly because my passport was expiring within six months and I had to get an expedited passport in able to fly out the next day. Needless to say, I was running around the city of San Diego all day dragging two pieces, of luggage with me, to get the required paperwork done to renew my passport. Hot, exhausted and tired I realized I had no where to stay over the night for my flight in the morning. I called the Marriott and explained the situation, that I had stayed the night before and needed another room due to extreme circumstances with travel papers and OF COURSE THEY REMEMBERED ME AND ALSO HAD A ROOM FOR ME! I WAS ELATED! I took the shuttle back from the airport to the hotel after getting my new flight information and had a melt down on the way back to the hotel. I had been up since 4 AM, had nothing to eat, ran around the city of San Diego on foot dragging two suitcases and arrived back at the hotel around 2:00 pm. The staff, as always, greeted me with a smile, welcomed me back, and said if there was anything they could do, let them know. I was "home" away from home and started to feel the nerves, frustration and tension go away. About ten minutes after I was in my room, I received two coupons for the restaurant/bar area with a note from the hotel staff/shuttle driver. They hoped this would help end my traumatic day with a smile and their concern was very genuine. Words cannot describe what the staff will do for their guests. Thank you all so very much for making my two night stay a wonderful experience. The hotel has always been top notch, clean, great staff, restaurant/bar area is very nice. Great shuttle service to the airport (10 minutes away), free parking, great restaurants nearby, parks and beautiful neighborhoods surround this hotel if you want to get a walk in. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Book early as they are in demand. Kudos to all the staff and management of this hotel. Sandy, the shuttle driver thank you for all your concern. Love, Love, Love this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
