Some nice touches in this hotel

Jan 7th, 2020

First of all, it is a Courtyard. So there are many things you cannot expect from this place. We chose it for the convenience of the location and we were there on a weekend, so traffic in the area was not an issue. They are in the process of remodeling so be sure to ask for a room far away from the noise. We had a top floor room at the end of the hallway facing the water and it was really nice and quiet. Decent sized room with a comfortable bed but the pillows were really oversized so a bit too much for us. The bath is split so you have the tub/shower and toilet in one room and the sink outside the door. They easily could have put a sink next to the toilet and kept the one outside - would make it much better for two people trying to get ready as the counter space is quite small. But everything was clean and the room itself was a decent size with a desk/chair and small couch. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant/bar area was spacious. We had a very good breakfast - not included - but good choices and prepared well and tasty. Self-parking is an additional $35 a night for in/out. Our daughter used a pack and play which arrived clean with a clean sheet and small blanket. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lots of great and some problems

Dec 23rd, 2019

The hotel is in a great location, the breakfast is wonderful and the atmosphere is really nice. We don't think our room had been cleaned thoroughly. We found a pacifier on the floor, long black hair in the bathroom, and dirty dishes in the cupboard. They did come and clean right away when asked but did not apologize which seemed strange. The rooms were affordable but we were surprised parking was $37 with two taxes added on so it was over $45 a night for parking. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Caution: room choice critical

Dec 21st, 2019

This is a perfectly standard Marriott. Seen one, seen 'em all except for one bizarre feature, a line of very bright green neon tubing that traces a large part of the facade and portico and ruins the nighttime waterfront view from many rooms. It's as though the owners decided it was more important to capture the eyes of passing motorists than to keep guests happy. Rooms on the other side of the hotel avoid the problem, but many of them face bleak apartment buildings. South-facing rooms avoid this problem, at least until more highrises pop up. One bit of good news: the staff is very very accommodating. They've heard the complaints about the green light a thousand times. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location but dated hotel

Nov 5th, 2019

This hotel is in a great location. It's a stones throw from dozens of amazing restaurants and bars as well as Facebook and Amazon offices. If you're visiting from out of town and are looking for the less beaten path, this is where you should stay. Great location close to the lake and views of the seaplanes landing. If you're heading downtown, it's a 15 min Uber which is about $12. The service in the bar is amazing (shout out to Way!) as was the rest of the staff on site. They also have a nice wine list including some great bottles by local winemakers, and the food was pretty good too. The hotel lobby and gym are both recently renovated. However, the rooms are not which is a tragedy. The rooms probably haven't been updated since they were built in the late 90s early 00s and show it. The showers have that look that happens when they're old and just can't be cleaned any more. I wish the rooms were better because I'd stay here every time I'm in town if they were. Please renovate the guest rooms so I can come back soon! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

More affordable option for small business meetings

Oct 23rd, 2019

Our board settled here for three days of meetings, avoiding the higher cost of the downtown/waterfront hotels. We still enjoyed walking distance to great restaurants and museums and beautiful views of Lake Union. The staff was outstanding: friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Facility was fully updated with the current Courtyard “look” and very spacious. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
