Glorious Positano location

Jun 20th, 2020

The hotel is in the most magnificent location in Positano. The roof top pool is to die for. The staff are very helpful. They can answer a lot of questions about your trip that you should contact them before arriving. Parking, porters, ferries etc. They have a fantastic poolside bar so that our routine was to shop and walk in the mornings and then crash by the pool on the warm afternoons. The breakfast that is included is fantastic. We typically skipped lunch the breakfast was so scrumptious. The hotel is literally 100 yards from the ferry and boat dock so that you can easily catch a ferry or boat to Capri or Amalfi. We loved it so much that we are spending our next wedding anniversary there! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Save Yourself! Stay Somewhere Else!

Apr 18th, 2020

I cannot for the life of me figure out which hotel anybody who wrote anything positive about Covo dei Saraceni stayed in, because it couldn't have been the same hotel we were subjected to. We stayed here for 6 nights on our honeymoon at the end of August into the beginning of September, and found it a profoundly disappointing experience. First of all, which is a great example to start with, was the ant infestation that we lived with every night (pictures for 3 different days attached). But it wasn't so much the ants; it was the complete insistence from hotel management, gaslighting us every step of the way with "We don't have any ants inside. And even if we did, housekeeping got rid of them all. And even if they didn't, well, then...um...it's your fault for leaving the window open." (we didn't) Next, even for Positano, the penny-pinching and upcharging at every turn is unbelievable. At the bar, we ordered a cocktail, they brought us the wrong drink, we went up just to point that out, and they replied (and I cannot stress enough to you, dear reader, how I am not in the least bit embellishing), "Well, what do you want us to do about it?" We didn't drink it, but they nonetheless charged us. And having worked in a midtown Manhattan restaurant in New York, it feels unfathomable to imagine that a restaurant would charge you for an incorrect drink order that you the customer didn't end up drinking. That was an egregious example, but there were countless other smaller things. Leaving aside that they don't do anything special for you even if it is a honeymoon, they have really cheeky ways of trying to siphon money away from you. They aren't honest about how the parking lot is a >10 minute walk away up a steep hill, and how they charge guests to transport their bags--per bag--from the garage to the hotel and back. They decline to give you any irons in rooms, but will instead charge you ~5 euros per shirt to iron (another small thing, the front desk insisted that irons are never present in any hotel room in the world...which...I just can't). Seemingly every single special programme or outing advertised on their website was "last season's prices" and turns out they were more expensive at every turn. And they wouldn't allow us to change rooms or check out early to another hotel without charging us the full duration of our stay (and believe us, we did try), even with the infestation we were dealing with. This was not any lower-rate non-refundable booking we had made; this is their policy to all their guests. We are giving them 2 stars because we did manage to enjoy ourselves in spite of all their behaviour. They have a lovely rooftop pool area (view pictured), the breakfast was quite enjoyable, we got a nice couples' massage, and we took full advantage of the private boat tour outing to Amalfi, which was a real highlight to the whole honeymoon. However, I would nonetheless say that the biggest takeaway is to just avoid here entirely. They don't deserve you, dear reader. You're better than this. And in general, avoid Positano in August. Perfect Stay and Wedding Venue

Jan 18th, 2020

To say that this place - atmosphere, food, and staff is AMAZING is a terrible understatement. It was genuinely perfect in every way possible... My wife and I were married in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in June 2019. We chose to have our wedding reception at Covo, and therefore, stay a few nights there before and after the wedding. Not only was our stay amazing, but the view from our hotel room was picturesque. My wife took most of her wedding photos before the wedding right from the balcony of our room, as it overlooked the ocean and the beautiful landscape of Positano. The amenities were wonderful, the room - ALWAYS clean, and the staff was so incredibly helpful and seemingly ALWAYS went to the extra mile to ensure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The always smiled, greeted us, and genuinely put me in a good mood every day! The wedding reception itself was perfect. We had 40 guests that traveled with us and we were all taken care of wonderfully. The food...I still think about it and wish I was back there. Service was absolutely wonderful. Price - it was cheaper than getting married in the U.S. by at least $10,000! (This difference INCLUDES the cost of air fare round trip, the stay in the hotel, flights and rooms for our parents, the reception itself, and the church “donation.”...We chose NOT to have an open bar. It also includes our stay at all other hotels during our trip....which was 14 days worth). If you’re looking to get married in Southern Italy, this is DEFINITELY the place! I cannot thank the ENTIRE staff enough for making not only our wedding day, but also our entire time there absolutely perfect. They are truly wonderful and should you get a chance to go here, you will see exactly what I mean. My wife and I cannot wait to go back to celebrate an anniversary in the future! Grazie Mille! Great stay in Positano

Oct 27th, 2019

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Covo Dei Saracini! The location was excellent, right on the beach. Access to the ferries was simple from the hotel. Our room was beautiful, with a stunning view. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with an omelette maker. The staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect choice for our vacation!

Oct 21st, 2019

We absolutely loved this hotel. We were a little worried before we arrived that our room would be too small since we booked the Classic which is the smallest they offered. It exceeded our expectation with it's high ceilings, bright window, and amazing view. The location is absolutely ideal being so close to the beach. We would recommend this to anyone we knew traveling to Positano. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
