Conveniently located off I-84, and fit our budget for an overnight stay while traveling. Building felt a bit dated. Room air conditioner kind of noisy, but the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and shower was nicer than usual for that price hotel. Had a decent exercise room, Breakfast not included, which actually made the room more expensive for its price, but we didn’t need breakfast so passed on their $10.95 per person offering. Would stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Crowne plaza that tries to earn its name

Jun 30th, 2019

We had no high expectations from the place, as we booked it almost as afterthought to break the trip from Massachusetts to Newark airport, staying one night. Room was decent, so was the breakfast, but the highlight was executive lounge which, although compact, provided some snacks and bean to cup coffee machine - a respite from awful weak coffee downstairs. Fully satisfied. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Problems with cleanliness

Jun 18th, 2019

I've been to this hotel in the past and have reviewed it in the past. The first time we visited, there was vomit in the room behind the chair. It's been ok the past few times we've been here. This last time, May 2019, it was awful. There was a large religious group having some type of party near the lobby. Children were riding scooters, bikes, wheelie shoes and just making total chaos in the lobby. Guests who were coming in were almost run over. I have a child and she doesn't behave that way in public or at home. The parents of the children were not watching them or paying attention to them. I pointed it out to the front desk staff but they said there was nothing they could do about it. Really? On the floor we were staying on, there were children playing a board game right in the middle of the hallway. Their parents were there. What if there was a fire or other emergency? Is this appropriate? Some of the ice makers in the hotel did not work. The room had no refrigerator. I think it's kind of sad to have to ask for a refrigerator. At the Holiday Inn Express or the Marriott or the Hampton Inn, a refrigerator is a given. The next day, we had breakfast and then went to the hotel gym. After the gym, around 11 in the morning, the Mezzanine Lobby was full of dried up juice and food scattered around from the night before. By 11 in the morning, the hotel staff should have cleaned that up and vacuumed. Even if it wasn't spotless at that time, there should have been a preliminary cleaning done to clean up the mess and then it could be cleaned more thoroughly later on. There was also a large moth, dead, in the lobby. I am attaching photos of the mess and the moth. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Had to leave

Jun 9th, 2019

Dated hotel with grungy carpet and odors. We booked online based on photos and reviews. Also liked the looks of the fitness room. However soon after getting to the room we felt the effects of the old stinky (and dirty) carpet - burning itchy eyes and skin within minutes...windows cannot open to provide any relief and ac system also smelled. We left and went just up the street to the Springhill Suites which was much better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable and functional

Not our first choice but the price was right. Easy check-in. Room was ok although it could have been a little cleaner but still fine. Love the kinetic art as you walk in. You won't go wrong here. My one issue isn't with this property but with the Holiday Inn Website which is not easy to navigate. You select Senior or AAA prices and what comes up first are non-refundable prices. If you're not careful, you might chose something you didn't want. Naturally the senior or AAA prices are much higher. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
