Tow night visit.

Jan 19th, 2020

I had made reservations so check-in went smooth, except for the nice upgrade to a suite since I was staying two nights and a member of their club. First floor with easy exit to the parking lot. Good free breakfast, Nice exercise room. I will stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean, but in need of updates and friendlier staff

Jan 13th, 2020

Recently stayed as part of a group event. The front desk staff was condescending and almost bothered that they were forced to stop gossiping and check guests in. If I wasn't staying as part of an event, I would have left for the hotel across the street just based on the attitude and behavior of these staff. The property is a little run down in places and hallways throughout the building have different orders to them. The room door lock wouldn't allow the door to open and the hotel declined to offer a different room. It was repaired, but the front desk was put out by the inconvenience. My room also did not have the full toiletry kit offered to other guests in my group. The catering staff was very nice, but the food was disappointing, uninspired, and out of date. For a group of over 100, the kitchen thought it was reasonable to serve a buffet of personal size frozen pizzas reminiscent of elementary school cafeterias. The entire evening was meat-free (not by request) and the only protein on the buffet was the burnt cheese on the pizza. They did a soup and sandwich buffet for lunch one day and the cold cuts were low quality and previously frozen. The bed and pillows were comfortable when I went to bed, but the tremendous amount of light coming around the doors and the noisy HVAC system made it difficult to sleep. At the end of it all, the bed was comfortable but I wouldn't stay here again by choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not a good visit

Jan 13th, 2020

I’ve stayed at this location several times in the past but after this visit will likely avoid it. The room was not as clean as I’d expect, the makeup fingerprints in the bathroom from a previous customer were just gross. The key card entry on the door just didn’t work. Having to slide it 10-15 minutes to get a green light and then having maintenance have to show me how to pull the handle down and then quickly up to just get into the room was weird. But what turned me off immediately was the front desk staff member and the way he spoke to the maintenance man while we all stood at the door trying to get in to the room. The maintenance man was helping and didn’t deserve the tone or attitude. He is just as important a staff member as anyone else in the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

6 night vacation stay

Jan 5th, 2020

Better this stay than the last one we had in July 2019. Bed was comfy and housekeeping was very nice. Asked front desk to unclog the tub and they didn’t do it for room 569. We were not there a lot but at night it was quiet and the stay was over all good. Just needs some updating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable Stay

Nov 20th, 2019

I stayed 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza on business with AWS. The staff was courteous and professional. Breakfast was included inside the Houlihan restaurant, at least for my booking. There were 2 vouchers in the packet, I assume for the 2 nights. There was a shuttle provided that gave me a ride to the AWS office. I didn’t worry with a shuttle back because the walk wasn’t bad. .3 mile under the Dulles Toll Road. Aside from having to wait for a couple of lights to cross, it was an easy walk. The World Centre “mall” is across the street. There are a number of restaurants and an AMC. I use the word “mall” loosely because there weren’t any shops to speak of. Only restaurants and some kind of fitness center. There is an ABC store a short walk(.5 mile) to the north. They had plenty of mini bottles or small volumes of various spirits. I picked up a 200ml JD bottle for $9. Far cheaper, I assume, than the bar rates at Houlihans. Wi-Fi was speedy and included (at least with my booking). If I’m back up this way I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, but I might want to try the Mariott and Embassy Suites that are nearby just to compare. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
