Beautiful hotel!

Sep 21st, 2019

There are a lot of complaints here about the beds, but that's a matter of opinion. I personally love them. They are incredibly soft, like sleeping on a cloud. The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. The staff is great, and they have a nice breakfast buffet. I highly recommend staying here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Made a reservation months ago (maybe 5-6) for conference rate of $129/night plus tax. Tonight the price is $82. For my higher price reservation, I have a room at the end of nowhere. It is a 10 minute hike to the conference area. When I arrived at 4:00 PM, it was 98 degrees and my room was stifling! It has taken 4 hours to cool the area close to my bed. Standing in front of my closet, it is still so warm that I start sweating. Not perspiring - sweating!!! Ate in the hotel restaurant after a long day driving - salad was warm. Macaroni and cheese tasted like canned Alfredo sauce poured over macaroni pasta. So I asked for a dinner roll - waitress brought 5!!! So, 4 were wasted. I’m tired and definitely not impressed! Certainly not my home away from home!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel - Horrible, Horrible beds!

Aug 5th, 2019

The hotel itself is great! There is a convenience store and multiple restaurants within walking distance. Retail only a short drive away. The hotel is clean and in good condition. The staff were awesome! Very friendly and warm! I am rating this low because of the bed. I stayed in room 4070 on 08/03 - 08/04/2019 and the bed was like sleeping on cement. I heard and felt the springs in the mattress when I sat down next to the nightstand/clock. I could not have been more uncomfortable! it ruined my entire stay. My whole body was in pain the following day and I took multiple aspirin. The pillows are flat and offered no comfort to the flat cement bed. I travel 6-12 times per year and have stayed in many hotels the world over. This bed was one of the worst I have ever slept in. It was surprising to me to have this be the let down of the experience. Beds are number one in a hotel because they are the one place that every guest experiences regardless to the reason for their stay and this one told me never to return to this hotel. I bought out the icy hot shelf at Target today. :( TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall a decent hotel

Aug 5th, 2019

We booked the hotel blind through because it seemed to be the best value with the amenities we required. (Outdoor pool, non-smoking, near the attractions we plan to visit). The rooms had double beds instead of queen beds, but not a big deal. The beds themselves were moderately comfy, I would have preferred a former bed. The entire facility was clean with updated furnishings. There is evidence throughout of water damage in the ceilings. You can tell they've tried to patch it after repair, but you can only cameflauge patch jobs so much. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling at the seams, but that just comes with wallpaper in the bathroom. The shower was kind of funky to turn on and off, but was otherwise fine. The AC had a mind of its own and would be comfy one minute and warm the next. The pool area was beautiful. Lots of mature trees to provide enough shade for those that didn't want the sun. The pool was beautiful as well as the large hot tub. There is a second workout room and restrooms pool side. There were plenty of lounge chairs as well as table and chairs on the patio. Towels are provided, they're tiny. If you want a big towel, bring your own beach towel. The area could use a good sweeping as there were dried leaves everywhere. The pool itself was clean, except for Sunday evening. There was lots of debris, leaves and dead bugs in the pool when we went for an evening swim. Apparently, the pool area is also a smoking area, which is frustrating when you specifically book a non-smoking hotel. At one point there were 6 people smoking by the pool, so my kiddos (one is asthmatic) had to leave because it was too much. The biggest frustration was the room keys. Upon check-in, we had to return to the front desk twice because our keys wouldn't work. We had to return twice more throughout our 4 night stay to get new keys because they quit working. My husband mentioned this frustration at checkout and was blown off by the clerk. "Yeah, we go through that about every 6 months". We also requested a microwave at check-in. The clerk told us she would send one up to our room. It never showed. Room service trays seemed to sit in the hallway for a full 24 hours (or more) before being collected. I'm not sure if this is hotel norm, but it seems kind of gross. Parking is $18/day for self park and $22/day for valet. There is covered parking, and we we always able to park steps from the entrance. There is no free breakfast. The breakfast offered is $17/person. Luckily there is a plethora of amazing restraints within a mile. Snooze and Pete's cafe were two of our faves. Nate's had fresh crawdad's. Their oysters on the half shell are $1 each on Thursday and The Flying Fish had the best catfish ever and $.75 oysters on the half shell on Sunday! Overall, this hotel met our needs for this trip. I wouldn't mind staying here again, but I probably wouldn't seek it out. After figuring in parking and breakfast, the cheap rate became equavelent to the others I looked at in the area. Old hot smells and they lied

Jul 4th, 2019

We stayed st the old, moldy, smelling hotel last night. The beds were hard as a rock. The white very thin duvet was dirty and the sink didn’t drain well the toilet didn’t flush unless you flushed multiple times. The parking lot was empty. But you have to pay. I was not impressed. The hotel shuttle told us dispite being taken to the yearly huge Addison fires show they wouldn’t pick us up. Our option was walking 3 miles from the venue to the hotel at 11pm at night on busy roads or take an Uber or Taxi. What he didn’t say was the inbound traffic for miles around the event after the show is directed to outbound only. No inbound traffic we had 3 Uber drivers camel because they couldn’t get to is. Uber charged but credited me for all three drivers. After two hours of leftish traffic die down a cab finally came and got us! The hotel also puts a 100.00 fee per room per stay. That 200.00 extra fee was Not included on the website Priceline that a booked through. You get it back in 7 days. The bottom line I see why the hotel is empty. The hallways, elevators, and breakfast buffet were boiling hot. The rooms took hours to cool down. If you are looking for a cheap stay this for you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
