Was clean and personnel were friendly and helpful. Would stay again. Close to the airport and to downtown Des Moines good variety of food nearby also a grocery store. Suggest trying Smitty's drive in on Army Post Rd. for a tenderloin TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We chose this hotel for both the price and the location. When we arrived, there was a sign posted on the door mentioning that their included hot breakfast has been replaced with a bagged breakfast due to COVID-19. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and quiet. The only noise we could hear was when walking the hallways through other room doors (no noise from neighboring rooms or the airport across the street). The bathroom was small but functional. Our room had both a microwave and refrigerator. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby in the morning, but the breakfast was just a granola bar and packaged muffin. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel is across the street from airport. Plenty of food places around. They aren’t doing breakfast because of COVID but do give you a brown bag with muffin and granola bar. Coffee and juice also available. Staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and serviced well. Overall though, this is an old hotel in need of remodeling. Still, rooms are adequate and clean. Plenty of parking even for big vehicles, For the price it works. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
OK for the night, but...

The room did it's job by sheltering us for the night. Room smelled like it hadn't been occupied for months; VERY musty. Open pool during the virus craziness was a plus. Brown bag breakfast included one muffin and one granola bar. Front desk personnel seemed like the customer in front of me ticked her off. Manner didn't change when I got up there. Nice price, though. Don't expect more than three star place, and you will be good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Spare yourself the grief-stay elsewhere!

The night manager was super friendly, and the bed was comfortable enough that an exhausted traveler could get good sleep. Other than that it was a train wreck! The coffee pot was broke so hot water went everywhere other than through the filter of coffee. Due to Covid there was no continental breakfast as promised, instead they gave you a muffin and a breakfast bar on your way out...no drink. When I turned on the shower, the water sprayed up the wall from the shower head. The white washcloths were dirty. It looks like it's the main stay for guys working on road construction because the parking lot was full of their vehicles (making parking spots hard to find). The noise of all those trucks moving out in the morning was impossible to sleep through. When I reported the broken shower and coffee pot to the front desk the lady (not friendly like the night manager) told me, "well I'm not authorized to give you anything so you will have to take it up with management" and pointed to the stack of business cards on the counter. Not cheap, not good, and definitely NOT recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
