Sick location, several "hiccups"

Dude. The setup of this place is so sick, it's nestled in under a cliff overhanging most of the hotel. The rooms on the south side face the highway below and the north side are tucked in under the massive wall of rock. There's a bar where drinking folks seemed to be ignoring the pandemic completely. A lot of mini-gatherings outside of individual rooms as well. My partner and I were eyed suspiciously, I suppose because of our masks? We had a problem with the hotel wifi not working, and the front desk was pretty unhelpful. They kept saying that it wasn't working that good in our corner of the hotel, without offering to move us. Eventually after several calls to the front desk I insisted on a room transfer and it was granted. When we got to the new room the wifi worked, sort of. Anyway if internet is something you really need in your room (as we did that night), maybe think twice about staying here, or make sure you're staying in a part of the hotel where the signal is strong. All that said, the atmosphere was so unique I would definitely stop by again, hopefully when there's no pandemic. Oh, another fun detail. Like many hotels, because of Covid they were advertising a "to go" breakfast bag in lieu of the traditional breakfast buffet. When I came by in the morning to pick up a bag, I was offered one of those little boxes of Froot Loops that come in the variety pack. The clerk said if I wanted milk it was in the next room. In the next room was a big bowl full of plastic bottles of milk and orange juice floating in ice water, and a few soggy boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. We wound up going out for breakfast instead. The room was good in insulating outside noise. There was a bar & grille next to front desk and it had live music on Saturday night. My room's WiFi signal was not stable and slow, even though it's only less than 50% rooms occupied. Due to COVID-19, this hotel didn't provide its regular sit-in breakfast. A to-go bag was prepared at the front desk upon request. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nestled in between the buttes on one side of the building and beautiful greenery on the other side this older Wyndham property has comfy beds and pillows, a small fridge and microwave, and coffee pot. It’s clean with free breakfast, heated pool, and Spirits night lounge onsite-last night they had karaoke. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cute little dive hotel. Cleanliness was adequate for the price. Rooms could use some updating. No hot breakfast. The best part of staying here is definitely the bar attached to the main lobby. I was fortunate to stay during a night they offered a pretty cool local band playing live music which added a nice touch . I would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
