In need of a renovation

Apr 2nd, 2020

Stayed here for work recently , normally stay at the Hotel Halifax across the street. These properties where both at one time under the Delta Hotel banner. The Barrington it seems hasn’t had a Reno in quite some time. Please refer to photos. The night table should be used for fire wood it is so worn out that the finish is splitting and peeling and is probably full of nasty germs. The decor of the room is dated and plain. The lobby has been updated and if they continue with that throughout the hotel it will be good. The location is great for restaurants and work related activities TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good value for money

Mar 8th, 2020

The hotel is located very well, you can reach most of the hotspots of Halifax walking. The rooms and beds are fine and clean, which is always a good thing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One con, the restaurant located next to the hotel which is part of the hotel as well is not that impressive. However, lots of other choices vicinity. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Value for location and quality

Feb 25th, 2020

This hotel used to be run by a good chain that 9/10 ran a good hotel. I got a great rate online and thought something may too good to be true here. But overall it is a good stay. overnight parking is on the high side at $27 + tax per night, but location makes it easy to park it and not worry about it. Rooms are fine, check in was fine. They went with the less expensive sports pack in the room, as I couldn't watch the raptors game on TSN1 that night. Which was a bummer. All in all for a decent hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed at the Barrington Hotel for a date night in the city. The accommodations were clean this hotel is located in a perfect central location within walking distance to dinner and dancing. Check in was speedy, staff was friendly and I absolutely no complaints on our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I wish I could give them negative stars! First of all, I checked out 2 weeks ago, still haven't got my deposit back after making 2 phone calls. Second: IT IS NOT HYGIENE! I am actually from NS and was in between houses, wasn't visiting. My property closed one week before the one I purchased. We had to stay in a hotel for a week and thought staying in a nice hotel like this (with so many good reviews!!!!) will be a treat to ourselves eventhough it technically doesn't have a parking and we had to park the car in a parking away from the hotel and pay for it separately at more cost. We moved everything out in 2 days, went to work in the morning of Dec.31st, finished work and went straight to the hotel to check in (just wanna give you an idea how tired we were). I got in the room and went right to bed to take a nap. I woke up and guess what I saw? The sheet over the duvet was off and there was BLOOD STAIN on the duvet! I was hugging that duvet! I was so disgusted, shocked and shaking, called the service and they brought me a new duvet and acted like it was nothing. Their management never even made an apology. We would leave the hotel right away if we weren't so darn tired. I waited till check out time to see maybe they want to make up for it (I wasn't expecting freebies, I wanted to see a FOUR STAR hotel customer service with BLOOD STAIN on their white duvet). Nothing happened. I told the desk associate at the desk and she's like "ah, I apologize!" Yea, right! I am quiet a traveler and have been in different countries including poor ones, but I've never seen such horrible customer service and level of hygiene in any hotels anywhere. Even their towels smelled like human skin (I guess they don't even use soap, don't even think about bleach! It would take the blood stain out if they did.) A hotel with this hygiene, doesn't deserve 4 stars. I attach the pictures of the blood stains here. I would attach the smell of towels too if it was possible! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
