Feb 11th, 2020

Stayed at the Barrington Hotel for a date night in the city. The accommodations were clean this hotel is located in a perfect central location within walking distance to dinner and dancing. Check in was speedy, staff was friendly and I absolutely no complaints on our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

NOT HYGIENIC!

Jan 20th, 2020

I wish I could give them negative stars! First of all, I checked out 2 weeks ago, still haven't got my deposit back after making 2 phone calls. Second: IT IS NOT HYGIENE! I am actually from NS and was in between houses, wasn't visiting. My property closed one week before the one I purchased. We had to stay in a hotel for a week and thought staying in a nice hotel like this (with so many good reviews!!!!) will be a treat to ourselves eventhough it technically doesn't have a parking and we had to park the car in a parking away from the hotel and pay for it separately at more cost. We moved everything out in 2 days, went to work in the morning of Dec.31st, finished work and went straight to the hotel to check in (just wanna give you an idea how tired we were). I got in the room and went right to bed to take a nap. I woke up and guess what I saw? The sheet over the duvet was off and there was BLOOD STAIN on the duvet! I was hugging that duvet! I was so disgusted, shocked and shaking, called the service and they brought me a new duvet and acted like it was nothing. Their management never even made an apology. We would leave the hotel right away if we weren't so darn tired. I waited till check out time to see maybe they want to make up for it (I wasn't expecting freebies, I wanted to see a FOUR STAR hotel customer service with BLOOD STAIN on their white duvet). Nothing happened. I told the desk associate at the desk and she's like "ah, I apologize!" Yea, right! I am quiet a traveler and have been in different countries including poor ones, but I've never seen such horrible customer service and level of hygiene in any hotels anywhere. Even their towels smelled like human skin (I guess they don't even use soap, don't even think about bleach! It would take the blood stain out if they did.) A hotel with this hygiene, doesn't deserve 4 stars. I attach the pictures of the blood stains here. I would attach the smell of towels too if it was possible! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dissatisfied

Dec 30th, 2019

My husband & I just stayed at the Barrington Hotel for 1 night for the "Home for the Holidays" dance. We are extremely dissatisfied with what was supposed to be a relaxing "kids-free" hotel experience. In the middle of my shower the water temperature turned to scalding hot and wouldn't cool. With shampoo still left in my hair, I had to finish my shower with hot water at full force water pressure. To make matters worse, the tap at full force would not turn off! So instead of a relaxing lazy morning together, we had to quickly get dressed to call down for maintenance. After some time waiting & with the room now a sauna, had to call down again for help. With such high humidity, maintenance arrived and had to leave our hotel door open while resolving the issue. I certainly understand that unforeseen problems happen but what I don't appreciate is how staff dealt with the situation after explaining the fiasco at checkout. I was first met with being asked, "maintenance did show up didn't they?" And quickly followed up with, "I've never heard of that happening before, sorry". I travel quite a bit for business and have never been treated so rudely. Maintenance staff was very kind and resolved the problem as quickly as he could but front desk staff was terrible! I certainly would not advise staying at this hotel if you're looking for a restful relaxing experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just An Average Hotel With No Parking

Dec 15th, 2019

The hotel was fine, and the room was fine. I had a hard time finding a parking spot, and I paid $30 parking for few hours over night. Which made my check in experience not too good. Everything else in the hotel was just average. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
