Not off to a great start

Only been here a few hours but disappointed so far. Our “upgraded” room is not nearly as nice as one we stayed in 2 years ago. They keep changing info on pool hours. Found out at check in that there will be no housekeeping for 5 days! When I went on the Marriott Bonvoy app yesterday it indicated we would be in a 2-bedroom suite but when we arrived today, we just got a pretty standard king room. Wanted to have lunch after we arrived a bit early & room was not yet ready. Though there seemed to be lots of open tables in the restaurant I was told they had a 45 minute wait to be seated! Tried to go to the very limited hours pool...was informed once I got out there that empty chairs were “reserved” and I would not be allowed to access the pool today unless others left! “They will call me if and when they have room.” I can come down tomorrow at 10 am to see if they can find a spot for me tomorrow! I seriously would have cancelled this trip if I had known this! Bitterly disappointed! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disappointing

We unfortunately had to travel for work during covid and staying at this hotel was incredibly inconvenient from the time we checked in. Keeping in mind that this is the third hotel in a week and we completely understand the lack of some amenities (housekeeping) and the attempts to keep a sterile environment (masks and hand sanitizer). This particular hotel had a host of bizarre covid procedures that contradict each other. They won’t make a highball at the bar but they will open their pool? They also wouldn’t let a courier driver up to my room but it was fine that an hour earlier a neighbouring room had 3 different types of food delivered to their room? Bizarre policies everywhere that are completely inconvenient to the guest. You are better off staying at a more moderate hotel since all of the amenities and services aren’t available. I WOULD NOT recommend this place for business travel, at any time. The internet connection is unbelievably poor. To the point where I was unable to do my work, unable to Skype my son and unable to hold a connection long enough to keep calls. Honestly, it has not been great. I would definitely recommend waiting until covid is over. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

NOT EVEN A 2 STAR!

I just want to point out that it was the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had. We were charged FULL point (price) for our room, no room service, which means no making of beds, clean linens etc. Also no water glasses no coffee maker, no valet,no bellboy, zero amenities! So incredibly disappointing that none of this was on the rewards website or their website. I feel completely ripped off. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

staff unkind & unhelpful

Advertising a COVID hotel promotion for healthcare workers, my Son wanted to suprise me to a relaxing get-a-way. After a 1 hour wait for checkin (only 1 staff), we went out for dinner (no food service avail) & we came back at 10:30pm to encounter the unfriendly staff (now 2), the attitudes & experience over a minimal discount is not worth it & clearly unwelcoming; Fortunately we didn't stay because my official healthcare identification was left at home (as it was a surprise); we thankfully went to the Best Western Plus where they have a gold standard of green leadership, no resort fees, and true leaders in hospitality, & provided a welcoming, hassel free, 5 star experience so we could finally relax & enjoy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Extremely disappointed . Hotel was in lockdown due to Covid . We thought it wouldn’t be as bad as it was. Had to ring a bell to get in, couldn’t exit any doors other than the front door , occupancy was extremely low so we expected a little more. Rate was high for service we received TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
