Weekend stay

The hotel was our home base for a few days for an event at the convention center. We walked to a few local pubs which was essential during downtime. The hotel staff was all very well dressed in uniform and welcoming every time. They really tried to keep the hotel clean and offer a good product for guests. During our stay, we had to move rooms one night due to a noisy guest. The hotel staff was able to move us to another room as the hotel was close to capacity. The parking garage was great with in and out privileges. The downtown area, though quiet on the weekend, is very well kept up. I see the city on the rise. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic Night!

I honestly can not say enough good things about this Hotel. Their employees are top notch from the front desk to the waitstaff and the shuttle driver. I booked online and called ahead for some ideas for an Anniversary trip for my husband and I. I initially spoke with NouNou and she was so personable and happy to help me plan our trip, she took care of us with upgrades to make our experience the best possible too. I called ahead of us checking in the next day too to see if we could check in early and Alainna was just as great helping us have the very best experience. Upon checkout I got to thank both of them in person and they are just great. Thomas was our shuttle driver and he was also great, he went out of his way to make sure we found the best restaurant and gave us recommendations. The room was just amazing too with views of both the river and the city. We took a trip down to the hot tub late night and it was nice and clean even though there had just been 8 kids playing in there 30min prior. Breakfast buffet and Mimosas were a great way to end our stay. The hotel is beautiful too. Don’t think twice about booking here, it is the best. Can’t wait to go back again. Overnight in the city

As many other reviews have stated incredibly customer friendly staff. Our first time at Delta hotels. We are Titanium Marriott members so we are picky about where we stay. Nice lobby front desk staff were training new girl. We went to purchase a few sodas and asked about water being in our room. She didn't know but said we could come back down and get some from the fridge in the market. I said I really didn't want to go 13 floors up to have to only come back down. One of the other gentlemen staff stepped in and provided us cold water bottles provided to all guests and away we went. Thank you sir for your assistance! Our room overlooked the River and was just like the picture on line. Sofa and bed were very comfortable nice size TV and yes there was water in the room. We left for the bar to have drinks and stayed for dinner. Preston was incredibly knowledgeable and we were fortunate to have picked up some more hotel information from him regarding this hotel. We didn't know menu's are on the TV, hotel trying to reduce paper use. Food was very well prepared and the bar and lounge was very comfortable. Our room was spotless and I appreciated my extra pillows being brought up. Our room had a safe, refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker. Desk area as well as a small livingroom. Towels appeared new and soft, loved shower only but the faucet was loose. Flooring was wood, carpet and tile. Love the hooks on the wall for coats. Only negative issues was room service for breakfast from the card menu you hang on door. It was brought in a to go bag, to go milk, juice, coffee and cereal. We didn't select to go on the card. Probably should have ordered on the TV menu. Valet was a bit strange upon arrival. There were shuttle vans 1/2 blocking the drive. There was a maintenance guy working on something and a guy watching him. We got out of the car and were looking for the main entrance and the guy asked us if we needed valet. I didn't know he was with hotel at first then took our information and provided us a ticket. Next day car brought around and as we were driving items in my console were shifting around. I looked inside to find my Emergency knife was gone. I saw the bright orange handle as I left my vehicle the day we arrived. Once home I wanted to check the garage to be sure I was not mistaken. I was a bit taken back by this happening and we did a car check once we stopped on the way home . We had over 50 hotel stays this past year and nothing taken before and we usually valet. Come to find out parking garage was attached and we could have parked ourselves. Lesson learned for us to lock everything in side before giving it valet. Otherwise very modern, fresh and restful stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good stay but eat elsewhere

Nice property with large, well appointed, quiet rooms and convenient adjacent parking lot. Decent value for money. The pool is not great. The only really negative is the restaurant, which is terrible. This being said it is a good option in Richmond. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Gave it Another Chance, Still Disappointed

I stayed here back in October and was charged triply for a one-night stay. Initially charged only twice, it was a lot of work trying to get anyone from corporate or this property to have the charged reverse. Over two weeks later, when someone finally did try to reverse the charge, they charged me yet again before finally releasing the two incorrect charges. As a result of this inconvenience (along with cleanliness issues of the pool and pool restroom), the GM was kind enough to extend a one-night stay to me at a later date. This past weekend I redeemed my stay to give them another chance. I combined it with another one-night certificate through Bonvoy, and paid for a third night at a great rate. The GM was kind enough to upgrade me to a spacious suite for all three days! The layout was beautiful although I did wish the bathroom had a bathtub. Only one remote control worked for the tvs. Once again, cleanliness issues with the pool and hot tub. The pool is only closed between 11pm and 5am, so I am curious as to when it actually is cleaned, as we went pretty early in the day and there was visible dirt, grime, and hair floating in the water. All three days there was a small piece of dried-up fruit stuck to same the pool exterior. The hot tub is not very warm, but could be rather nice if cleaned properly and set to a better temperature. All above were fine and not worthy of a bad review if we’re not splitting hairs. I did enjoy the room and appreciated the gesture that was shown me. I was told over the phone I would just need to renew my keys each day, as each night was booked separately, which made sense to me. However, the first day I attempted to do this, I was rudely told that “renewing my keys” actually meant needlessly being checked out and then in again, prompting the need to put my card down yet again for incidentals. The first night I was charged $50 above my rate and was advised the incidental fee was $50. This also made sense to me, until this incredibly rude woman charged my card on the second day for a random amount just under $100–far above what I was told was the hold for incidentals. These, of course, will be pending for at least a week until returned (if by then; not heartened by my last experience in terms of a timely repayment of funds owed) and the breakdown cannot be ascertained, despite an unreturned email from the GM, who clearly does not actually care about what should have been an easily-recovered service, nor delivery of a promise that my money would not be carelessly and seemingly arbitrarily taken again without explanation. The third day I attempted to check out and back in again, I was simply given renewed key. So there was a way to avoid the second hold, contrary to what the rude front desk agent advised me on day 2 when she gleefully ran my card again for a random amount. TLDR: A perfectly fine hotel if not one with terribly unclean pool area with nice rooms and beds but terrible lack of focus on guest experience and follow-through. They will mess with your money and charge random amounts that take ages to return to you, and are not attentive in attempts to make things right. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
