This South Pacific–themed resort with its tropical backdrop of orchids, ferns, and palms, lies directly across the lagoon from the Magic Kingdom, on the monorail and water taxi routes, and has lots of kids activities, making it a good family choice. The resort underwent extensive renovations in 2015, including the volcano pool and slide and the Great Ceremonial House lobby, but the theme is unchanged, with plenty of drumming and chanting in the three-story atrium, and no lack of tropical drinks at the bar.

The 25-acre hotel, thickly planted and torch-lit by night, was one of the first two hotels planted here, back when the South Pacific tiki craze was still swinging, and the longhouse-style thatched-roof complex remains one of the most transporting of the Disney resorts. The most expensive rooms glimpse the Magic Kingdom across the Seven Seas Lagoon (there's an on-site monorail station for it), but most have greenery views.

A lagoon anchors this 11-building complex that's just a monorail ride away from attractions. A Polynesian theme captures the warmth and beauty of the South Seas in deluxe studio rooms and bungalows.
