Reminds us of Maui

May 19th, 2019

We visited the Polynesian resort for a character breakfast. It is so beautiful and the people are so nice there. It really reminded us of Maui. We had a great time looking around the gift shops and checking the place out. The pool looked amazing with a zero entry at one end. I saw they have snack stand that offers dole whip which is a tasty frozen treat you find in Magic Kingdom. This is a nice place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful and all good things, but BAD internet.

May 18th, 2019

We LOVE it here. Great pool. Beautiful scenery. And monorail station in lobby?!? The best. This place is fantastic. I wish there were some extra American items in Capt Hook, but Grand Floridian is in walking distance and Contemporary is a monorail ride away. One big issue, at least for our stay in Pago Pago, is that the internet REALLY stinks. The WiFi is atrocious, and only got two bars on LTE. So after a long day of parks and kids, I want to watch some Netflix and chill, but the connectivity is bad. For the price, it should be perfect. Still, that’s one real problem amid so much beauty and perfection. We also love the path to the transportation center so we can get right on the monorail for Epcot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good and bad

May 16th, 2019

We stayed May 5-11. The room was clean & comfortable. Large with plenty of room for our family of 3. We did have a few incidents here that put a bad taste in my mouth though & therefore we are unsure if we'll be back. The smoke detector went off at 5:30 am one morning. To most this wouldn't be a big deal but we just had a massive house fire a year ago. We also have a child with ASD &SPD. You can imagine how scary this was for us as it woke us out of a dead sleep. My poor child sitting in the hallway shaking & covering his ears b/c of the sound. This isn't the resorts fault but when I told them why I was upset they just said "sorry" & that was that. The maintenance man was the only one that seemed to have any concern for how we were feeling. Not what I expected from a Disney resort. To show such little care when I explained why this bothered us so much was a little upsetting. The next day we went to Moana's Mercantile, my son is autistic & while he was walking around with something. He then turned around & placed it on a shelf. I went to correct him to go put it back where he found it the sales lady shouted "Go put it back where you found it!". I was stunned but looked at my child who was also shocked and said "go put it back buddy" I have never in my life been a store when this has happened. Clerks usually say something like "I'll put that back for you" but instead shouted at my child to do it himself. I was so embarrassed. I assure you that if she had offered I would have had him do it but it was the way she approached it. The people who work in Captain Cooks were amazing. My son really struggled in there b/c it was loud & busy but they really went above & beyond when they saw him have a hard time. They helped me find a quiet place for him & our whole stay were very helpful. THIS was the customer service I expected from everyone there. The pool & splash pad were AMAZING. The view of the fireworks each night was pretty unbeatable. Aside from the incidents I mentioned above it was a pleasant stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing stay

We had another wonderful stay at the BEST WDW resort. The tropical theme made this hotel so serene and relaxing the minute you entered the hotel lobby. Everyone is friendly and helpful as usual. The room is spacious and clean and super comfortable. The ground was well-kept and just absolutely beautiful to walk around. Just love everything about this resort and it is my absolute favorite. Beautiful Resort with a side of love bugs!

May 13th, 2019

First I have to say I was so impressed by all of the staff that worked here. Every employee that I came in contact with was extremely pleasant and kind. The resort is beautiful and I enjoyed walking around it for my stay here. My family stayed here for a week and we had a really good time. We got to the resort early and they were able to accommodate our request for a first floor room. We enjoyed watching the fireworks almost every night from the quiet beach side of the hotel. My kids absolutely loved the pool area, they spent hours playing at both pools and the playground pool area. I personally loved the quiet pool area because it was not as crowded as the big pool . Riding the monarail to magic kingdom was so convenient and the buses to the other parks we're not bad. We did go to the parks later in the day so I'm not sure how crowded buses were first thing in the morning. A few things that could have made the trip better for us: The crowds of people coming to visit the resort could be overwhelming at times, making it hard to enjoy the lobby area and main area of the hotel. The week we were here they had swarms of love bugs, so I spent allot of time swatting at bugs in lounge chairs by the pool instead of lounging and relaxing. I'm sure the resort could not help the bugs but I feel like no effort was made to deter them . I was wondering why they didn't spray overnight to keep them away or try big fans at the pool area. You couldn't go five seconds without five bugs landing on every part of you. Also at the quick service restaurant Captain Cooks it would have been nice to have more chicken options instead of so many pork dishes, we were sick of the restaurant by day three of our stay . The quick service is the most affordable for families. Overall we had a wonderful time and we were very sad to leave . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
