ham in the vegetarian omelette !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apr 7th, 2020

Finally got here on the 16th January Disney is THE destination for our family and this was our 4th stay Reception =Brilliant Rooms, I prefer a carpeted floor but that's minor Dining plan (quick service) went for this option as we have a vegetarian amongst us. This wasn't great as it turned out hence the review title and general lack of choices at the hotel and parks Shulas Steakhouse, The best dining experience of my life!!!!!!! The parks, good and bad. Vast areas of Epcot closed off (apparently extensive work taking place for 2021) sorry but looking at fences is not part of the Disney experience !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and no Splash Mountain Star Wars, Toy Story and Avatar = great additions Riverside for some reason didn't feel quite as good as French Quarter (stayed 5 years earlier) but then again my daughter preferred it Love Disney and want to mention our daughter had her birthday during this visit and a few little touches during the day were great TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Setting

Mar 29th, 2020

Absolutely beautiful place to stay at Disney. Had the feel and charm of being in Bayou Country. The boat access to Downtown Disney was an enjoyable touch as are the carriage rides if you are so inclined. Check in process is slow and we had some errors in our reservation that the resort could not fix because it was booked through an athletic event at the ESPN center. Prices here as with most Disney attractions is sky high but that comes with the experience I guess. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Southern Charm in The Middle of Magic

Mar 19th, 2020

My family and I stayed at this resort for a few days in the first week of Feb 2020. It is very quiet and peaceful. The river flows through the middle of the resort allowing for The fact that we could take a boat ride instead of a bus was also a great change from the norm, leaving quick access to Disney Springs. We are in love and plan on a longer stay on our next big trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Magic Stay

Mar 19th, 2020

My best friend and I took her daughter and mine to Disney the first weekend in March and we stayed here in a Royal room with a river view. Our room was a short walk to the lobby and restaurants at Riverside. There was a beautiful courtyard next to our room with a fountain. I’m mad at myself for not taking a picture of it. Our girls were amazed by all the detail in the rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Mousekeeping was amazing during our stay. We would most definitely stay at the resort again. Family vacation

Mar 19th, 2020

My family (minus our 15 year old son who was at Disney with his HS band) stayed at Riverside and really enjoyed it. The rooms are comfortable except they do not have microwaves so you have to walk to the food court to warm up leftovers. The beds were comfortable and ours even had a pull out bed disguised as a shipping box for our 6 year old to sleep on. The room itself was decorated with a room divider decorated with a scene from The Princess and the Frog and the shower curtain had Ray from the movie on it. The entire area is planted with trees, bushes and plants you might find in the bayou. There were little man-made ponds and a river that takes you, via boat, to the French Quarter resort and to Downtown Disney. It was not running while we were there due to the Coronavirus scare. There were several swimming pools and the big one on Ol' Man Island (which is accessed via two bridges) was nice. It went from 3 feet to almost 5 feet in depth and had a little water slide and buckets that poured out water. The day we went the cast member working had the kids playing games and was trying to get everyone involved. That evening we went to the S'mores campfire, which is held every night. All you can eat marshmellows or you can buy a package of chocolate and graham crackers for $5 and make your own smores . The food was good. It was the typical burgers, chicken strips, steak fries, pizza, etc but it was good. We ate at Boatwrights, the main restaurant, and I had the All you care to eat plate. It was brisket, sausage, ribs, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and a dessert. It was really good. The staff was very friendly. I lost my magicband on a ride and the hotel gave a credit for me to get a new one. Then my daughter lost her Mickey ears and the lady in the gift shop gave her a pair free. The location is very good. You can walk to the French Quarter resort in about 10 minutes for some excellent beignets. There are also 4 bus stops located around Riverside so you don't have to use the one at the front entrance. Riverside is a really nice resort. We like staying at different locations and would recommend this one to anyone wanting to go to Disney TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
