I came here as a child and i have never shut up about it since we ended up coming here on honeymoon. The cast members, the food court, the buildings, the music, the theme, the location. Everything is just perfect. I like the fact it’s small as well so easy to navigate. Building 4 is where we asked for so it’s perfect for everywhere including the buses. You can walk to riverside too and get the boat to the springs! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This resort in my opinion is the prettiest in Disneyworld, it’s such a fantastic setting and the beautiful centrepiece being boatwrights where you can catch the boat to Disney springs or even hire your own, don’t miss out this place when visiting. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Can't make it to New Orleans, this is the next best thing!

May 7th, 2020

I'm going back and writing reviews for hotels i've stayed at in the past to send some love and support during these difficult times for hotels. I've stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter twice now and after staying at various other Disney hotels and as an adult with no kids i can say this is my favorite. Both times they were able to accommodate my requests for an early check in, corner room, and located near one of the beautiful fountains. The rooms were modernized and while simple still give you a bit of the New Orleans charm, its the hotels grounds and theming though that really make this spot my favorite. One favorite moment was sitting by one of the fountains at night and having a horse drawn carriage go by. Another huge benefit is the boats that take you to Disney Springs! Its worth staying here just for that if you're a foodie you'll want to spend quite a bit of your time there. Morimoto Asia, Wolfgang Puck, Homecomin', The Boathouse. So many amazing restaurants just a short boat ride away. I even found myself after the parks had closed taking the bus to Disney Springs grabbing a bite to eat, then taking the boat. Also be sure if its a night where they have live music in The Scat Cat Lounge to end your night there. Get some boozy beignets! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Honeymoon trip

May 3rd, 2020

Me and my husband stayed here end of Feb into the beginning of March this year (2020) for our honeymoon. They say first impressions count and I guess our check in experience set the tone for the rest of our trip. We were in line to check in with a friendly looking, enthusiastic cast member. Then, another young man in a suit came out and called us over to be checked in. I’d heard lots of good things about Disney customer service so was expecting to be fussed over. We got a rather luke warm welcome, with barely a smile. He didn’t ask us any questions, he quickly skimmed over the details of our dining plan and sent us on our way in under 5 minutes. I was really disappointed, especially seeing how the guy next to us was fussing over another family. It would have been nice for a warmer welcome, especially on our honeymoon and after a 9 hour flight. We were given a room in building 7, which I think was the furthest away from the main lobby building. The resort isn’t huge so this wasn’t a major deal, but as we are UK guests and our check in was late I feel we got given what was left. If I were to stay at a Disney resort again I would definitely pay for a preferred room, just for the convenience. Another thing I was shocked about was how noisy the rooms were. We could hear everything around us and were sandwiched right in between two extremely noisy families who screamed morning and night for our whole two week stay. Not what you want for your honeymoon at all. The food court was ok, but the quick service meals at the parks and Disney springs were much better quality I feel. The cast members in the food court were polite. The grounds of the hotel are stunning, the theming is excellent. We loved getting the boat to Disney springs. We didn’t get to use the pool as it was too cold but it looked really good, plenty of sun loungers and a cool splash of for little ones. Perhaps if this was just a regular trip I wouldn’t have been as disappointed. However, as it was our first ever WDW trip, my first time in the USA and our honeymoon, the whole experience did leave me wanting more. This resort is classed as moderate, but our trip still cost us a lot of money. However, I wish we’d have saved for a bit longer and splashed out for a deluxe resort for our honeymoon. New Orleans in Florida!?

Apr 27th, 2020

What a great resort! The Disney cast was always helpful and nice. The iron work on the buildings and the landscaping made you feel like you were “in” New Orleans. Great beignets but they’ll take a second to the original Café du Monde in New Orleans. The fast service restaurant is convenient to have if you’re looking for a meal or just a snack. Prices are a little high but, hey it’s Disney. Had a great two night stay and will definitely be back!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
