Chilled out and relaxed

Jan 26th, 2020

We stayed here for 12nights after starting our Disney trip in a Deluxe resort. We thought there would be a slight difference in the quality of service and standard of the rooms but we were just as happy as we had been in the Deluxe hotel. On check in the cast member offered us a gift card if we opted out of daily housekeeping and we jumped at the chance! We would spend most of our time out of the room so there was no need for a daily service. She also assured us that we could call down for fresh towels or for someone to take away rubbish when ever we needed. The room was spotless when we arrived and the bed was so comfortable. The selection of small bites and meals available in the dining hall was perfect and being able to get the boat to Disney Springs so easily gave us so many other dining opportunities. The pool was busy with lots of families with kids but we always managed to get 2 sunloungers together when we went down and the cast members doing entertainment everyday was fun to watch. We didn’t have any issue getting the bus to any of the theme parks, no long waits or standing going to or from the parks. We would definitely pay the same to stay here at this resort again! Value for money was exceptional for how we found it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Hotel But Questionable Service

Jan 26th, 2020

The hotel is very nice and is in a great location. The service was questionable. It took 1 1/2 days to change a battery in our room safe. Was told we could utilize the safe deposit in the main lobby. Why not just replace the battery. The weekend maid service comes very late in the afternoon. We we wnt back to our roo to rest the room was still dirty. When the maid came we had to leave the room. When we went for a meal in the food court the cooks were stading around talking to each other as we waited to place our order TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A typical Disney moderate

Jan 26th, 2020

This hotel is the first Disney moderate my family stayed in, after years of Deluxe Resorts, and the difference in grade levels is apparent. The rooms and physical plant are in great shape in terms of cleanliness and staff service, but the rooms are a little spare in terms of charm, and this resort in particular has the motel-like feature of doors which open directly outside, as opposed to an internal hallway. Considering the fancier (yet pricier) stations of places like the Polynesian or Contemporary, I don't know if I would make a reservation here. There's nothing wrong with the place, it's just not my taste level in terms of on-property Disney resorts. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Can’t wait to go home

Jan 24th, 2020

I’m not sure what all the hype about this “resort” is. We are currently here and are counting down the days until we leave. The rooms have been renovated but who had the bright idea of putting in laminate flooring in a hotel filled with kids? No need to set a wake up alarm, the family of elephants next door will be more than enough to wake you up as they stomp around and slam drawers just before 6am each morning. Wait, not enough of a wake up call? Well the other family on the other side of you speaks at a decibel to wake the dead, so I’m sure that should do it. If not, the toilets flushing in the rooms around you sound like they are beside your bed, they are that loud. The exterior decor here is great but the bones of the room are a 1 star motel. The price paid is nowhere near worth what these accommodations provide. Oh and this is a top floor room so I don’t want to imagine the noise level on the lower floors. Only 4 more days of this “magic”. It can’t end soon enough and we definitely won’t be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A beautiful hotel with just a few wriggling issues

Jan 24th, 2020

Overall we loved our stay at POFQ back in Oct 2019. Unfortunately there were a few issues so I will start with these: Check In - we arrived on the Magical Express at our designated arrival time and joined a small queue to check in. Unfortunately this was not really moving at all as there was only one person on the desk. Eventually somebody else came out and after around 15 minutes of waiting we were seen. At the desk we were informed that there wasn't a room ready for us. This was a bit of a shock to the system after having been on the go for nearly 24 hours. It took well over 30mins to check in as the CM had to eventually go out to the back room and sort things out as nobody would answer the phone to her. Eventually we were given a room on the ground floor (1st Floor for Americans) and we moved in and unpacked. It wasn't until the next morning that we found that we under attack from a small horde of millipedes which seemed to be coming up from under the bath. I went back to reception to report this and joined a queue (there was always a queue at reception. Always) We were told that there were no rooms available for us and that the locals aren't bothered by the bugs so we should be ok. We didn't want to waste any more time on this as the kids wanted to get to Magic Kingdom so we just decided to adopt a stiff upper lip and live with it. The good though far outweighed these minor annoyances and we will hopefully be back again. The beds were incredibly comfortable which is just what was needed after long days in the Parks. The Food Court offered a decent selection of food an we ate here much more then we expected to. The pool was just beautiful. It was never too busy and my girls had so much fun going down the slide and generally splashing about. Movies under the stars was great and we enjoyed sitting out with a wild rabbit who came to watch the film with us. Bus service to the parks was regular and for the most part there were no issues except late nights coming back from the parks when as many people as possible were crammed on. The boat to Disney Springs is truly magical and a much more relaxing and enjoyable way to travel. The CMs working at the hotel were fantastic and cannot be faulted. They made us feel so welcome and were very apologetic about the few issues that came up. We will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
