Would stay again

COMFORTABLE BED: Stayed at this Doubletree twice- in 2019 and again this past June. Hotel beds in general are typically too firm for my tastes, but Doubletree’s are pretty good. Rival Hiltons, and less firm/more plush generally than the other Hilton properties Embassy Suites/Hilton Garden/Hampton Inn. WAS CLEAN (except for frig). Had a doz stays in 8 Hilton properties since the virus breakout, and this was the only property that had CleanStay seals on the door and around both TV remote. WAS QUIET: it helps that I believe the hotel was only a fraction full. Besides the usual coffee maker, small refrigerator, and safe, had a small microwave, which not all Doubletree’s have. -Wifi and TV worked well. Due to the virus the hotel airport shuttle wasn’t running, and the restaurant was closed, as had been the case for going on 3 months. It would be nice if the website was updated at the time to reflect that, but I believe that is more an Hilton issue as I’ve seen the same thing at other Hilton properties. The Doubletree was the only downtown Hilton or Marriott property that was running an airport shuttle when I stayed last year. GOOD LOCATION: only a mile walk from Temple Sq & the center of downtown. The Hilton is a little closer. COURTEOUS STAFF The only reason I can’t give 5 stars: The small frig hadn’t been cleaned. I was there 6/19-6/20, and there was a 1/2 frozen sandwich in there with an early June expiration date, and there was what looked like black mold in the refrigerator. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Reopening is Always Difficult

We checked in online and selected room 920, upon arrival we were given room 331. This room is directly above the Lobby Entrance. If you enjoy loud, drunk people chatting it up at 3 am in the morning on hotel property in front of the lobby, room 331 is the room for you! Avoid room 301, 302, 331, and 330, this also applies to floors 4,5,6 (probably will not have this issue on floors 8, and 9). Prior to arrival we always use Hotels text messaging system and they always reply. I contacted the property to confirm their restaurant would be open, and they did not reply. Restaurant was closed as were most of facilities. Bar was open and Coffee/Snack Bar was open in morning. I understand the issue with restart due to Covid, so I did not reduce my rating because of this unfortunate situation. The suite was well furnished with all the usual Doubletree appointments, had to request soap for the shower. The beds were very very comfortable, great choice of channels on cable, shower water comes on hot, ac is quiet, internet is fast, and rooms were clean (I should note that the Covid cleaning procedure that Hilton is promoting with a (Covid clean seal on door) did not exist. I had to run water through cover maker several times to get “clear water”. I like the feel of the hotel, and once they are fully operational again, I am sure is will be a great property to visit. Covid has really effected all properties. When I return to Salt Lake City, I would not hesitate to give this Doubletree another try (once I can confirm everything is operational) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Coronacation Cross Country

Loving this hotel and the people in it! Erica is definitely the right person to work with your customers!! She is friendly, kind and willing to go above and beyond and did!! is a extra pleasant blessing! Thank you Dave for making 2 little ones and I go to bed happy girls with our warm cookies! Do not stay here during covid. The hotel itself is very nice and I would recommend it under normal circumstances, however, I am pretty sure they are using certain floors of the hotel to house the homeless. I witnessed a guest that looked less well off throw up right outside the side lobby door. I witnessed a guest that looked less well off bringing what appeared to be a prostitute back to the hotel. I witnessed a guest engage in what appeared to be a drug deal. The side lobby door convienently does not properly lock and less well off people park in the non-gated portion of the hotel's parking lot, push through the side lobby door, wait outside the person in questions room, stay for 5 minutes and leave. I witnessed guests that looked less well off doing drugs in the hotel's parking garage. I witnessed guests that looked less well off cutting hair in the lobby and walking bikes in the lobby. If this hotel is indeed housing homeless, shame on Hilton for not including a warning about it. This is covid and to do this to guests is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the hotel is very lax on safety procedures and does not even limit the number of patrons allowed in an elevator at once. If you are thinking about booking this hotel during covid, do yourself a favor and book practically anywhere else. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Seamingless Customer Service

From where should i begin..... The room was amazing, Clean, with a gorgeous view on the 9th Floor. Wonderful customer service, very friendly staff, always helpful and accommodating. I want to give special thanks to Joshua for making our stay wonderful by offering to me and my mom a personalized service. Always with a smile, very well informed about what it is around the city. Thank you my friend for making our stay wonderful and thank you for being so attentive. That’s what true hospitality should be, thank you for being a great host! Hopefully we will come to Salt Lake City and we will definitely stay here again, at The Doubletree Suites. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
