The hotel is full of history and the dust to go with it!

I loved walking into this hotel, it is lovely. The people who work there, also lovely. There was a great guy giving historical information and you can see how this was once and opulent building. The room, not so much. It was dusty and dark. We got a one room suite. The bedroom was nice, the living room was dark, with very poor lighting and full of dust in the corners. There was a wood floor. The bathroom was nicely appointed but smelled. We ate breakfast there and although it was good, the table was sticky and it just felt wrong. I take my sister to Cleveland Clinic 2-4 times a year and typically stay at Hilton Hotels. I have made reservations with other hotel brands for future visits. . We have not been back. Great historic place, part of the roaring 1920s.

Room clean, spacious, beds firm and comfy, bathroom clean and updated. Exterior WINDOWS need to be washed specially in the restaurant and the FRONT of the Hotel. Shuttle a great service to help you move around if need to. Mediteranian food dinner/lunch tasty and flavorful and you don't have to go little Italy (which was $$ at Mia Bella and nothing to brag about) or downtown which is also on the $$ side. WOW. WOW. WOW. The customer service and welcoming vibe is spectacular. Cannot rave enough. The hotel staff makes its guests feel like they are the most important humans on the planet. From check in to check out, our experience is imprinted in our hearts forever. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A new favorite! And ask for the tour!
Mar 8th, 2020
This is my new favorite Hotel in Cleveland. Love the building, and it’s history, and I highly recommend the tour if available. I did want to share some of my overall experience, though I will stay here any chance I can. Upon check-in and arrival there was really no greeting as a Hilton Honors member or status level member. It is commonly expressed on check in at other Hilton’s, and honestly the expression of appreciation and acknowledgment is appreciated. There was also no acknowledgment of a requested upgrade if granted or was available. Not a deal breaker, but I chose Hilton for my stays for a reason. Also to note, parking was a little confusing as Valet is no longer provided given the area of the city and I was more than fine with that. To highlight some of the more important items, the staff was friendly and kind. The room was beautiful. It’s is a good balance of the historic building and modern luxury. I would love to have that bathroom in my own home. I did want to note that there was No Ice bucket in the room or mini fridge to chill water or beverages. Not a big deal and not a deal breaker just looked around for one. Also, the AC/Heat took a couple tries and re-reads to figure out but worked perfectly once I got it down. I did want to add that the original Hardwood floors looked amazing in my room. They must have to dust those often, but there was no dust and walking into the room it had a luxurious appeal that tied everything together. I did eat in the hotel and was not pleased with was the breakfast. I selected the MyWay Double Tree breakfast as my member program perk over my bonus points. I would have rather had the Hilton Honor bonus points. Signs were posted trying to explain changes but with the new Hilton MyWay Perk that didn’t even count. So I partially paid for breakfast and didn’t missed out on the perk bonus points. That’s a bummer and I will just run out and eat in the area next time. I did say something to the waitress, and on check out and received an apology and an explanation they have obviously stated countless times. I did ask for the managers business card on checkout and did reach out to the manager (on 2/23) expressing thoughts on my stay. I met the manager and he was so nice during the stay and he invited feedback so I was surprised I didn’t hear back when I emailed. Aside from the breakfast I did post my excitement and favorable experiences on social meeting. It was such a good stay and memorable. I am still talking about it. It really is an awesome hotel and can’t wait to see the rest of the renovations down the road. I am happy the company was able to save it. I love the hotel and unless you need to stay downtown I would recommend the Tudor Arms Hotel in the metro Area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Adequate as is, but could be very nice
Mar 4th, 2020
I loved the historical character of the hotel. That being said, the place is showing it’s age. The entry is dark and drab. All smokers congregate outside the entry. So, you get to walk through that on your way in. The lobby could be really nice, but it’s not. They had nothing in the way of a pantry. I’m unsure if the hotel is awaiting updates or if the updates were poorly done. For example, water damage in restroom was painted over. Fix it and then repaint. The rooms were redesigned at some point. The floors are uneven were the old room existed. I will spare you all the details of the sub par remodel. If you can look past all that, the staff was great. The girls work in the restaurant for breakfast were super friendly and very attentive. The bed was comfortable and clean. The decor in the room was decent. The hallways seemed to have newer carpet. They seem to be updated but maintained a historical look. They workout area was decent, but it could be much better. The restaurant was independently run and was average at best. The food was decent and the staff was very good. If doing business in one of the surrounding medical facilities, you can’t beat the location. You might find that it is worth looking over the the negatives I pointed out for the convenience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
