£2800 unauthorised charges!!!

May 20th, 2020

My partner stayed at this hotel. When he left in the morning he reported water leaking in his room for which he was unaware of source. We were then abs flabbergasted at charges of £2800 which were not authorised to his credit card. £700 for repairs n £2100 for unoccupied rooms. This was charged by manager Rashd ul Hassan. This man should be arrested for fraud/theft. We have tried to pursue but hotel now facing liquidation which would explain him attempting to obtain money illegally by these means. Disgusting cleanliness

Apr 10th, 2020

Me and my wife stayed here on 3rd of march. I have since been trying to get my £137 for the stay. I would suggest you stay clear of this hotel as these are the shower and washing facilities in a junior platinum room at £137 per night. The hotel are refusing to refund me. I'm currently putting all emails and correspondence I've had with them and 3rd party companies to upload. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Given runaround re cancellation due to coronavirus

Apr 6th, 2020

Contacted hotel directly to cancel (pre-paid, direct with Hilton) booking (for three nights 22-Mar - 25-Mar) due to HM Government restrictions on over 70s travel etc. I was willing to rebook later in the year, otherwise I was of the impression that Hilton would fully refund *. The person I talked to was disinterested and intransigent; the best I got from him was for me to go away and contact Hilton's Customer Carer Center - I did, requesting cancellation due to coronavirus, but no one has replied, although I got an email "How did we do? - did we resolve your isuue today?". How annoying is that? Well! I gave feedback as requested, but still silence. I know things are chaotic; I know not much money is at stake (£130.05 to be precise). But I was disappointed at the unsympathetic contact with the hotal; and being asked How Did We Do before they had Done Anything At All really rankles. I've stayed at Doubletrees on more than one occasion before but while they owe me £130.05 I can and shall use a different hotel. * May I remind Hilton of their own words: Existing Reservations. All individual reservations—even those described as “non-cancellable” (“Advanced Purchase”)—that are scheduled for arrival on or before June 30, 2020 can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival day. parking issues

Mar 14th, 2020

my sons daughter uses the hotels facilities for dancing, he used one of our companies vehicles to drop off /collect her and we was issued with a parking ticket from the company used by double tree . despite numerous letters to parking company we are still receiving hassle from them. i would be wary if you are any type of group wanting to use the hotel for any time of social gathering due to the use of this parking company TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Itison Afternoon Tea offer

Mar 10th, 2020

Arrived with my sister who I was visiting in Aberdeen (first visit to Aberdeen). I thought it would be a treat to go here for Afternoon Tea but we were sadly disappointed. This was an Itison deal but I have purchased many of these and most of them in Glasgow and have never been so let down :) We were sat in the atrium which was a bit draughty. Our afternoon tea arrived with our Prosecco. The Prosecco was fine, the sandwiches were very poor, half the crusts were still on them (either keep them on or completely off - not a half attempt). The 6 finger sandwiches - the top 3 were not fresh (stale and the edges were curling up - obviously they had been left out). 2 ham and mustard and 4 egg & lettuce/red lettuce - the bottom 3 were all squashed and sparsely filled. Cakes, macaroons, flapjacks we thought were shop bought and we had 2 fruit scones, we would have preferred plain but when you have to ask for some milk for your tea (which was initially missing) we thought we'd best eat up and leave as quickly as possible. We had no butter for our scones either. Staff were fine, we got the impression they were students who worked there to make some money but overall it was very disappointing and a waste of money. Then there is the parking, wasted £2 on that to then realise we had to give the hotel our registration plate - but that was our mistake but its not easy when you see all these private parking warning signs advising of a £100 fine if you don't pay. I would have contacted the Hotel direct but cant find an email address to send photo's of the afternoon tea so have reverted to this. Happy for them to contact me. Its a real shame as this would put me off buying another deal for your afternoon tea. This is the poorest one I have attended and I see from other reviews I am not the only one. This was meant to be a treat for my sister and I but it as far from it and a complete waste of money - I would never pay full price for that! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
