Room was not ready
Jan 23rd, 2021
We booked a room with one king bed and one sofa bed for 3 people. I’ve called the hotel in advance asking to set up the beds and to have 3 sets of pillows and 3 blankets . Upon arrival there was only 1 blanket on king bed, sofa bed was not prepared at all. We have arrived at 1am after a long day on the road with only desire to fall asleep. Not only we had to wait for missing items, but housekeeping refused to set things up and just gave us the sheets and blankets. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great place to stay for our family of five and exceeded our expectations!

This is a great place to stay for our family of five and exceeded our expectations! If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location for skiing, this is your place! We spent four nights here for a quick MLK weekend getaway. First I would like to say to anyone reading this, ignore some of the poor/picky reviews unless you are super picky of course. If your looking for a good location at a good price this place is it! Our room was much larger than expected and we never felt cramped. We did call ahead and asked to be on the 4th or 5th floor to avoid the multiple elevators as you may have read in other reviews. Our room had two double beds and a pull out sofa bed and was well equipped with a mini-fridge and they even delivered a microwave to our room! Special thanks to Caroline who made our check in as smooth as could be and answered my many questions upon arrival. Great customer service! The parking was in a heated garage below the hotel and easily accessed via the elevators. We parked on level two which is also the level that the ski storage was on. I took a picture to show the garage, walk to the elevator, and the benches outside the ski storage. The parking spots are tight, but worked for our minivan rental. You can’t go wrong with the heated garage and we never had a problem coming or going! Now for the skiing! Getting to the quick silver lift was a breeze! We took a short walk across the street and then across a parking lot and then skied right down to the quick silver lift. I took some time and labeled this in a picture to show you just how close you are. This is just as good as ski in/out without the crazy price tag! There are even benches located right outside the ski storage to allow you to put your gear on. We placed our boots/skis in the heated locker area each night after skiing and wore our boots back to the hotel room. Keep in mind this was during covid, so I’m not sure if this area is normally self serve or not. We were able to simply leave what we wanted in the lockers. We brought our own skis and felt comfortable leaving everything in the storage. The doors are controlled by your key card and there were cameras watching the area. We purchased the breakfast with the room and I considered it to be convenient to get a good meal in before hitting the slopes. The breakfast buffet met our needs and you could either get it to go or eat in the dining room. Coffee, juice, etc was offered and they were even nice enough to pack one up to go if you wished. Again, customer service was great in the restaurant known as 9600 Kitchen that was attached. As a family we take a couple trips a year. My expectations are pretty high, but I don’t let the small things bother me. We came here to enjoy the skiing that Breckenridge has offer and wanted a nice comfortable, close, convenient place to stay and we found it. Thank you to the staff at the DoubleTree Hilton in Breckenridge, you really made our stay great! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
not actually ski in/ski out
Jan 11th, 2021
This hotel is called a ski in/ski out. Unless you can ski across a parking lot and across a reasonably busy street this is not true. Proximity to slope/lift is OK (200yds from ski lockers) but this location should not be allowed to consider itself ski in/ski out. Hotel has a very strange design. Do not take a room above floor 6 or it is two elevator rides and a couple long hallway walks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Employees will steal your things!!!
Jan 3rd, 2021
Employees Steal Your Stuff! I forgot my AirPods in my room from being in a rush, and they sent a email that the item hasn’t been found. Make sure you pack everything before you leave the hotel. I don’t get the point of them having a lost and found if their employees are going to be stealing guests items. So disappointed! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A Different, but Pleasant Experience in 2020
Jan 3rd, 2021
My family and I stayed at the DoubleTree Breckenridge for the second time this year. Our first time was in January 2020, pre-Covid. We elected to stay there again due to the hotel's proximity (right across the street from the Quicksilver Super Lift at Peak 9). Due to the fact that Summit County was at Level Red, many services and amenities were not available, including Housekeeping and the Ski Valet. If you wished to use the Fitness Center or Hot Tubs (we did not), you had to make a reservation. The Made Market was open for grab and go only and the restaurant was open for take-out only on weekends (Thursday to Sunday), I believe. Face coverings are also mandatory everywhere in town - inside and outside. We were aware of some of these things, and tried to plan our trip accordingly. Since Housekeeping was not allowed to enter your room, you had to request items (towels, coffee, toiletries, etc.) at the front desk. You had to leave dirty towels and full trash cans outside your door and they were often taken care of promptly. Before we arrived, knowing that the ski valet was closed and we would have to carry our skis to our room, I checked in on the Hilton Honors app and selected a room near the elevator. A few hours before our scheduled arrival, I saw that we were assigned a room on the 7th floor. After reading other reviews about the long walk and multiple elevators for the higher floors, when we checked in, I asked if we could possibly be moved to another room. Caroline at the front desk was more than accommodating. She upgraded us to a larger room on the 5th floor that had a beautiful view of the mountain and a balcony. The rooms do not come with a microwave, but if any are available, they can be requested upon check-in. A microwave was delivered to our room within 30 minutes. The room itself was well-appointed and very clean. The hotel does have an odd layout and the bathroom was quite small, but very clean. It was very strange not having housekeeping, but whenever we needed fresh towels or coffee, it was easy to get them. It was very cold (single-digits) when we visited and we thought that the heater wasn't working properly. We discovered that if we closed the blackout shades on the sliding doors, it made a huge difference in the warmth of the room. We often walked into town (just a 10 minute walk) and brought dinner back to our hotel room (I brought insulated bags with us for this purpose), which made having the microwave very convenient. We took out from the hotel restaurant one night (a family dinner of BBQ pulled pork, mac & cheese, tater tots and cole slaw and it was delicious. Breck Sports has limited hours, but it's location right inside the hotel is so convenient. It was definitely a chore to carry our skis up to our room, but we managed. Although there were many things we missed about the DoubleTree from January (including a full-service cafe, ski valet, housekeeping services, water and hot cocoa in the lobby, and DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies!), the staff, especially Caroline and Sarah, made our stay a pleasant one!
