Pretentious

Mar 11th, 2020

Not sure how long this hotel has been a Double Tree as the decor does not follow group standards Built into a hill, expect lots of steps to just get to reception No bath and a fixed head shower only with a separate loo Restaurant is over priced and so dark had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu, and no chance to see what you’re eating Wouldn’t avoid returning but would be cautious Oh and the lift broke, and staying on 6th floor so more steps TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Great place to stay

Mar 9th, 2020

I have stayed here a few times, now and its always excellent. The moment you walk in you feel welcome. The restuarant and bar are well run and good value for money. The gym is great, bust but still great. I will continue to book here for business trips and also intend to book a long weekend for my wife and I soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is not a Spa Hotel

Mar 9th, 2020

This is a very nice hotel, although you are limited to just MPW which seems to be a shrine to him, very nice food whilst we stayed but feel there should be another choice of where to eat, other than the gym cafe! Really surprised to learn that the leisure facilities are actually in another building and when we went to have a look around it resembled my local gym and swimming baths with children having lessons, not quite what you expect when you imagine a Spa experience. Rooms were very clean, slept very well one night, but the second night was ruined by continuous drunk people coming down our corridor at 2am and throughout the night, and into the morning and then talking loudly and having a chat outside our room, there were several functions going on that seems to dominate the hotel and they use the old house, such a shame wouldve loved that to be the eating area and bar area, I would avoid this hotel if you want a peaceful experience on a weekend and always check if an event is happening as we didnt sleep a wink saturday night, the reception took £50 off the bill for our inconvenience, it wasnt about the money, we needed a relaxing break.
