Was at hotel mon 2nd nov for 3 nights and everything was fantastic especially at these times with COVID-19 felt totally safe the staff in reception were amazing and same in restaurant we had some lovely cocktails non alcoholic lol but must say they were lovely had breakfast and two meals at night and once again perfect so a big thank you guys you all made us feel welcome and will be back once everything gets back to a bit more normal,vicky @ mark TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We paid £150 for two nights which I think is a very good price with breakfast and close to everything. Rooms are nice, massive bed and the view of the castle was lovely! Breakfast was nice too. It’s about a 10 minute walk to all the shops and it’s a lovely walk ☺️ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed here for 3 nights. Great location and easy walk to pubs, restaurants and shops. Our room was located on 2nd floor with a good view of Edinburgh Castle. We had a warm welcome and check in and given warm cookies on arrival too which were delicious. The room was spacious with small bathroom. Everything we needed and everywhere clean. No room service due to Covid which was fine. You could request anything you needed via reception. Good measures in place for Covid throughout the Hotel. The breakfasts were great and you could order hot food from the waiter. Friendly and efficient service. The only negative for us was the room lighting. It was very dark in certain areas which made it difficult when reading or getting things out of the wardrobe. However, we would return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Booked a five night stay here for our visit as my wife is a frequent user of the Hilton chain, sadly the room was not up to standard for a deluxe room, dirt on the bed, mould on the bath/shower room and smelt damp and was generally not as clean as it should be especially given the current situation. We raised this with the management team and were offered a replacement room but this was no better so we decided to cancel the rest of our stay, my wife was up late finding a new hotel. Had breakfast the next day which was average, no further contact from the staff regarding our decision to leave so we asked to see the manager who apparently couldn’t see us as he was in a meeting with another manager, clearly meetings come before customers, we insisted we saw him and eventually he spoke to us, he was very apologetic and offered us a taxi to our new hotel we didn’t think this was acceptable and he then offered us a refund for the first night and the taxi to our replacement hotel 10 hill place part of the Best Western group which is fantastic and sets the standard for the Hilton Doubletree. Great hotel and amazing staff, who were all very helpful and friendly. Loved the room which was King Deluxe with castle view (322). Safety precautions were excellent due to covid pandemic, with face masks and hand sanitizer. Great breakfast and really good choice all cooked fresh for you. Received complementary drinks from staff when they found out we had just got engaged which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again.
