Picked initially because it said on Riverwalk so was expecting alot more. Nothing on Riverwalk. Nothing do near hotel unless going event one of the stadiums. Only place to eat is Ruth's Chris steakhouse in hotel. Was referred to restaurant up the street while waited for room and it was complete waste of $. No shopping nearby. Rooms are in serious, serious need of remodel. Carpet worn, paint peeling in places, furniture worn out clearly needing replaced. New sink in bathroom put on raggedy old cabinet. Room serves it's purpose but probably wouldn't stay here again until updated both property and attractions nearby. However, the staff was absolutely AMAZING. Brian the bellman was AMAZING. Helped me make all my travel transportation arrangements via phone long distance, conversated with me while we worked on things. So kind and friendly. Merna was also great and friendly. Gave my husband extra cookies for his birthday. Also upgraded our room view. Reza's the driver who handled all my transportation was absolutely without a doubt the best service I've ever had. Wish he was available other areas in Florida I go and need transportation. CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT REZA AND HIS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was phenomenal and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS as always. No dissatisfaction with that experience at all. View of Skyline on our balcony at night made up for the really old and worn room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beware.. Not your normal Double Tree

Where do I start... Cold shower, Mildew/Mold smell, noisy neighbors, a door that does not shut behind me, but rather drags on the floor and parking kiosks that malfunction from one day to the next. My company uses this hotel for out of town employee visits and clients. I will strongly suggest they review this option going forward. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dirtiest Room Ever!

Upon arrival we were thrilled with the staff. Everyone -the valet, bellman, front desk - were very pleasant and accommodating. The problems started when we got to our room, only to be greeted by a leftover food service tray partially blocking the door, filled with leftover food and dirty dishes. We had had a long day of driving so we just put our luggage into the room and headed out for dinner. When we got back and started to unpack, we then really noticed the room. Disgusting. Huge area of the sofa looked like someone had thrown up and maybe housekeeping took a cursory swipe at it. Went to open the drapes to look out at the beautiful river room only to see crud hanging off the sheers. Seriously. The rug looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. After an hour the bottom of my white socks and they were so dirty it looked like I had walked outside in the dirt. Took out my wet wipes to wipe down the remote and it came away black. So much built up crud between the buttons that I gave up. It was so late and we were so tired that we didn't want to deal with trying to find another room. And we doubted any could be any cleaner after seeing the hallways. In the morning I went to step into the shower and saw old bits of soap, hair and black grunge on the tile floor. The tiles on the side of the shower were dirty and the grout discolored in areas. We checked out and I showed the photos to the desk clerk and she was very sympathetic and said she would credit our Hilton Honors account with some points. I really felt she should have done something with the room charge, but felt it probably wasn't in her power to do so. But as of today, we have not received any extra HH points. Oh well. On the plus side, and the only reason I am giving 1 star in this review, is that the staff was so dang nice. I can honestly say in all my years of traveling, this was one of the most pleasant, helpful crews we have come across. Even checking out, I felt this. Until today when I see that the desk clerk didn't keep her word. I'm hoping she didn't just say that to get me to not make a big deal about the housekeeping while still in the hotel. I'm going to believe she just forgot her promise, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Olivia and Tomena did an exceptional job at the front desk, they took care of all our concerns/requests....true hospitality superstars!!! Great location...great property and most of all...great staff!!!! We’ll be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Expectations Ruined

I reserved this hotel as a delegate to the Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jax, FL. Although mobility impaired, I requested a room close to the elevator which I received, but I specifically stated I did NOT want a handicapped room because all of the ones I have ever received lack adequate counter space. However, I was given a handicapped room anyway without the refrigerator that was requested and a tiny microwave. The tub was too high and the sink too shallow with a stopper that locked and could not be opened or removed causing a waste of time. I was very concerned because I had food that required refrigeration or coldness. I had a generous amount of linens for the bath initially which would decrease. Mgmt. was notified and refused to rectify the situation stating that my name would be placed on a list to obtain a refrigerator maybe the next day which did not materialize. The linens promised never appeared. Furthermore, after being told that parking was free - one factor that caused me to book here, I was surprised by the additional unexpected expense of parking- $20 per day for valet service or $12 for self-parking! In spite of the many disappointments encountered in a Hilton hotel, the free cookie at checkin was delicious and the meals prepared by the hotel’s restaurant were awesome. These employees along with some of the bellhops and valet workers went out of their way to accommodate me! Also, I think that an itemized printed receipt should be slipped under the door on the last night in addition to future emailing to provide time for inspection before leaving the premises!
