DEPOSIT

Jan 24th, 2020

The hotel experience was lovely, I stayed with a friend as a birthday gift from her mum, when we arrived I had to pay a £50 deposit which I was not aware of but is understandable. When we left I was told that the money would be returned to my account in ‘ a couple of days’ that was on Saturday the 18th, it is now Friday 24th and I still haven’t got it back. This is very annoying as I don’t have any money in my account. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely hotel

Jan 24th, 2020

I love Double Tree hotels all around the world and these one is nice too, as expected. Maybe it doesn’t have something outstanding, but there are no surprises nether, like bad furniture and strange stairs without elevator… High standards are everywhere in this hotel, no complaints!! Poor state of repair - needs major refurb

Jan 24th, 2020

Too much not working from front door on arrival and lifts to many faults in rooms. In the first room, I could not plug in my laptop or draw curtains fully. Response from reception was slow to non existent. 2 pin adaptor brought which was not the problem No one came for curtains. No one responded to phone calls so I packed my bags and went down to leave. Asked for duty manage but "not available". I was offered another room and was told that he would check in first. Then shown to room which was "accessible" which meant no proper shower. Toilet was running continuously so I said that I would leave but was promised top priority for fix. An hour later - nothing and still no one in reception answering telephone. Repacked bags and left room but was stopped in corridor by engineer on his way - apparently held up by having to deal with broken lift. Extension lead brought to solve laptop problem. Ross competently fixed toilet having arrived with the right spares so this must have been a known but unfixed problem. Other issues include fan control not working - permanently on noisy high, light bulbs not working, bathroom floor flooding from shower because drain slats were partly blocked and periodic loud cracks (enough to wake me) from somewhere in the room. On check out, I complained and the duty manager offered to reduce my bill but has not done so. This hotel is in a poor state with unresponsive front desk because they were busy dealing with many complaints including from a colleague also staying there. Despite the good location, I recommend avoiding this hotel until it is fixed and staffed better TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
