Subpar Stay

Feb 13th, 2020

I came traveled to Minnesota with a group for work, and we all stayed at this Radisson. Prior to booking my room, I called to confirm if there was a refrigerator and the staff confirmed my room would have one. I would later come to find out that wasn't true. When we arrived, the front desk receptionist was very friendly but not very helpful. We learned the on site restaurant was closed due to renovations, which isn't mentioned on their website. That was disappointing but not a deal breaker. We were concerned if breakfast was still going to be provided, since we paid extra for breakfast. She couldn't confidently tell us yes.. That wasn't reassuring that the staff didn't know. We checked into our rooms and a few of us found there was no fridge/microwave in our room, despite being told that there was going to be. Additionally, one of my coworkers had no heat in his room. Apparently this isn't an isolated occurrence since as I'm writing this review, there's a review on the side of the page that mentioned the same problem on Dec 23rd. The staff did make things right by moving my coworker, and moving a fridge to his room. As for my room, the amenities and layout were lacking. I purposely booked a "business class" room which cost more but this room isn't much better than a standard room. From talking to my coworkers, the main difference is that this room comes with a desk. However that desk isn't great for working at. There are no convenient outlets like most other hotels have, and the wooden desk has a glass top. That means you can't use an optical mouse directly on the desk. It's a minor inconvenience since you can just put down a piece of paper, but not what I'd expect from a business class room. The shower wasn't great either. It had a new shower head which was nice to see, but it took at least 5 minutes for the water to heat up. The rest of the room was fine. Then came breakfast the next morning. Based on the website, we expected just a breakfast buffet because it's described as a "plentiful breakfast spread". Instead you order from the kitchen, and if you have a voucher, there was one select meal you'd get for free. If you're dietary restrictions, you shouldn't bother paying for breakfast up front when you book, because you have no choice in what you get with that voucher. Well, the receptionist who checked us in didn't give any of us vouchers. So we had to stop by the desk to and waste some time there. Then we had to waste some more time waiting for someone to come take our order, despite the dining area being empty. In the end, we had to leave by the time they would have filled our orders so we just got food from the nearby Denny's. Overall, it was not a great experience. We decided later that next day to check out and moved hotels. That should tell you a lot about our level of dissatisfaction, since we had to step away from work to book new hotel rooms and return to the Radisson midday to checkout. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Could have been a lot better!

Very dissatisfied with the service! Had to change rooms 3 times. Heat and hot water was not working. I have stayed at this hotel several times and have never encountered any issues like this before. I expect better out of this hotel TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Diamonds and Pearls 65th Birthday Party

Jan 17th, 2020

We had the pleasure of using the Radisson hotel in Brooklyn Center, MN for my mother's 65th birthday party and it was spectacular! It was the perfect location and the ballroom was amazing! Special thank you to Jallah, Nicole, and Tim for helping to make this a memorable event! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
