Rude and unprofessional service. Didnt respect HHonours members or Amex Plat clients (no promised benefits or upgrades). Very far from village and taxi service expensive. We tried contact with Manager or duty manger, they didnt want talk with clients. They made receptionist make all dirty work and they really didnt care pf service. Property and rooms absolutely need renevation. Views from rooms nice. Swimming pool water were very dirty. In restaurant service good, but same products in breakfast and dinner menu. In our visit, 5 nights, it was part of Double Tree by Hilton network. One of the most worst experience in Hilton hotels TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not recommended!

Stayed in thsi hotel 8 years ago. Satisfied. Now the hotel is in bad need of renovation. Everything is worn and old. Hotel understaffed, Service in restaurant and bara nonexisting. Difficult to understand how Hinton can let this happen. The resort has two very good golfcourses. good location north of Barcelona with good connections from most of Europe. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Renovation is planned!

Sep 22nd, 2019

We just spent a week-end night enroute to our final destination. Warm welcome, room and hotel need renovation, which should occur this winter. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant: good food and good service, especially by Carlos. The only down side: price was very high, hotel being fully booked due to a gilf competition! Great Stay

Not sure where the critical notes on Tripadvisor come from..... we booked 2 nights preceding a week in a sea view vila. Very friendly welcome at the reception, with the famous chocolate chip cookie. We picked the hotel because of the great and large pools, both inside and outside. The weather was excellent, so we only used the big one outside which was great, with many shaded areas both from parasols as well as under trees. The rooms all have nice verandas, and are well equipped. Best moment of the day is the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the golf-course and having the mountains in the back! So good we are contemplating to be back on our next holiday in October! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good for golfers & good location for non-golfers

Jul 17th, 2019

Having visited the Costa Brava for decades my wife and I are very familiar with the general area and love the fabulous coastline, beaches and medieval towns. There are lots of places to visit and great restaurants. About five years ago we both took up golf and having caught the bug find our days of lying on the beach are over. This is our third visit to this DB by H hotel, and we have enjoyed them all. We book 7 nights b&b with 5 rounds of golf through one of the golf agencies, and tee-times circa 10 am every day. There are 2 courses to choose to choose from (walk out the hotel entrance and you are there), though we prefer the easier Forest to the Links. The courses are in very good condition as watering is not an issue (too many lakes around the Links course in my view!). My wife and I walk - there seems no point in racing round in a buggy. I am in my 60's with hip problems but find a rented pull trolley is fine as the courses are flat and I need the exercise! However at euro 4.50 per day the trolley is a bit expensive. My wife asked for a "weekly" rate and was given one-day free. Toilet facilities and cold-drink machines on the courses keep us both happy. It did rain on our first day's play, and we talked to a couple who were given a rain-check for another day. It wouldn't have worked for us with limited time, but worth bearing in mind. Another point we noted is that nearly everyone played in the morning, and by 3 pm hardly anyone headed out. Then again, that's exactly like a Saturday back home! I believe there is a late-start discount if interested. Back mid-afternoon for shower, light lunch and beer at the clubhouse and remainder of the afternoon at the large pool (sun-beds are free and there is plenty of shade from trees) leaving the only decision as to where to eat that night. What's there not to like?! The hotel is clean and rooms have good-sized balconies. Breakfast is self-service and covers the bases well. We had an early start on our last day before breakfast started so the hotel provided a simple packed lunch - fruit, drink, sandwich etc. We thought the busy hotel restaurant had improved from previous years and was just as good as the restaurants in the neighbouring towns, though please check out El Pedro in nearby Pals - our favourite - but make sure you book.
