Looking beyond the façade...

Jan 3rd, 2021

On the surface this hotel shows as an average mid-level hotel, although Doubletree should be reviewed as a higher class hotel. The lobby is modern and clean, but the attendant was not at the front desk the entire evening. Unfortunately we had cause to visit him several times that night and had to wait for him to come out of the back. He was nice enough, just not 'there'. Our room was less than clean with stains on the carpet being our biggest concern, so not necessarily was it not cleaned by housekeeping, the room just needed a deep clean. We discovered the lack of a hair dryer and was told we had to wait 45 minutes before housekeeping could get us one, which of course, did us little good since our hair was dry long before then - and flat. I had to take a cold shower because the shower handle was broken and wouldn't turn to produce a hotter water flow. These are all things you find out after getting up. FYI: Breakfast consisted of a small bottle of orange juice, a school-size apple and a Danish in a bag. Other Doubletree's we've stayed at in the last couple months still gave full breakfasts so that was a let-down. A huge problem for us was the lack of amenities around this hotel. You have to drive several miles to restaurants, whether fast food or sit-down. It's fairly close to the airport, but nothing else. The best part about this hotel is that the ceilings/floors are made of cement so you can be on any floor with the same noise level above and below you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not so clean

Oct 16th, 2020

Room was very dusty and I found pieces of cookies on the floor. Looks like mold is growing near the shower and the shower head was falling off the wall. Upon check in the gal at the front desk was pleasant but was all alone and had quite the line formed so it took some time to check in. Not very convenient when you want to get to your room to clean up after a day of traveling. Air conditioner was quite noisy, didn’t bother me as I was alone but it could be an issue for a family of couple. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

tropical rainforest

i realize we are in the middle of a pandemic, but setting that aside, for the entire stay at this hotel the humidity level had to have been at 100 percent. everything felt wet, including my purse which i had thought was sitting in wet carpet only to realize it was just the general moisture of the hotel. overflowing trash cans, i saw the same skittles in our hallway along with some smashed french fries on our arrival date and departure date. my morning workout included smashed cookies on the floor and half drank caprisuns in the tredmil cup holders. on my first day i went in the elevator and there was a sandwich and lettuce in the corner of the elevator. this hotel needs some major cleaning. it's good to be going home. Covid central

Sep 5th, 2020

Signs posted about mask mandate, but no expectation that masks are actually worn. People riding elevators, sitting in lobby, and walking about without masks. Very few in compliance. Desk clerk said nothing about mask requirement to party in front of me checking in without masks. Our room with holes in the window coverings. Reasonably clean. Location makes it awkward to access. Beyond Disappointing

Aug 24th, 2020

Both ladies that checked me in and checked me out were beyond nice to me. I was VERY upset that I was not able to use the pool or the hot tube. For one, the use of the pool had a sign up sheet because so many people were allowed in there at a time. Which is completely understandable with Covid but they should make it known on their col website that there is going to be limited access and if you plan on using any of the amenities then you need to sign up a head of time. Everyone that was checking in had no idea that was the situation. Secondly, the hot tub was down and not working properly, that should have been noted on the their third party websites like Orbitz. It was me and my partners anniversary so we had planned to go to the hot tub later in the evening when their was less crowd to relax in the hot tub kid free, enjoy each others company, and talk in peace for a while. That was one the reasons why I chose The Double Tree was for their amenities that I didn't even get to use them. The check in lady apologized to me multiple times which I defiantly appreciate and saying " They must have not updated all websites" which I believe is completely unprofessional we are more than half a year into this pandemic. Things should be updated so customers are away of what they are paying for. When booking it stats that hot breakfast would be served and I got a bowl of cereal and milk at a 4.2 star hotel. It would have been nice to know that they would only be serving prepackaged food.
