I was expecting so much more...

Mar 24th, 2020

I was in town for my father's funeral service. The location was perfect! The staff was nice but the first room we had there was mold around the tub and the toilet was gross. There was a hole in the hallway outside or room 734. The next room 1226 we had was much better. There was free parking around the corner in a covered garage. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

There has to be a better option in Silver Spring

Mar 10th, 2020

I stayed here for one night with my girlfriend as her daughter’s basketball team was staying here as well. The only positive was the price. This hotel is totally outdated. The rooms were small, the pillows were too small, the bathroom was tiny, and the tub was stained. The lighting in the room was inadequate and the internet service was spotty. There’s no way I’d stay here again. In fact, for a few extra dollars you can stay in DC in much nicer accommodations. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay

Mar 5th, 2020

This hotel is located in downtown Silver Spring. It is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and the Metro Red Line. It is an older hotel, but well maintained. We were welcomed as Diamond members and told that our room would not be ready for another 30 minutes. 10 minutes later Anthony Rattler, the FD Manager, had our room ready for us and checked us in. The entire front desk staff was excellent and we got to know them during our stay. We had positive interactions with Anthony the entire stay and feel that we made a new friend. The hotel has valet parking only. It was a little pricey ($20 per night quoted on the website but they $25 charged when we checked out). It was quick and efficient both on entry and exit. Getting our suitcases into the lobby up the short flight of stairs from the car park lobby was a little weird but we figured it out (kinda European). We had an issue with our AC/heat and the service staff were able to quickly fix it without making us change rooms. The Wednesday Night social/reception was a pleasant surprise. It was cold out and we decided to go downstairs to the restaurant and found this hotel social. We were invited and made to feel welcome. Thanks. The morning breakfast area was spacious and the food from the buffet was excellent. They also prepared any special orders quickly. The toaster was broken so the cook took our bagels into the back and prepared them for us. All the food items were plentiful and delicious. Overall, this was a very good stay, one of the better Doubletree experiences. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very dated hotel

Mar 4th, 2020

Hotel is very dated, rooms, internet system due to hotel not been able to offer WiFi service bc system is old, rooms have paper thin walls (couldn't sleep during the night due to noise)...etc. service is not the greatest. Location is good if you have conferences. Convenient location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good night sleep tight dont let the bed bugs bite!!!

Mar 1st, 2020

Me and my fiance came here on the weekend of the 23rd to go to an opeth concert so we thought this hotel would be closer to where we needed to go. The location is great and how close it is to the shopping mall. HOWEVER... on our first night we stayed we woke up sunday morning covered in bug bites!! We found bed bugs in our bed. I felt so disgusted as to think we would have a great night stay. I called down to the front desk to explain our problem and they immediately gave us another room. They gave us complimentary breakfast and paid our parking. The gesture was great and appreciated. So when we got into our new room we stripped the bed completely down to make sure there was no other bugs. The rest of our stay was great. Its a great hotel but that one bad experience is unforgettable. The noise level is ridiculous because the walls are so paper thin like. Overall it wasnt all bad. The staff was amazing and friendly. I would stay again but will definitely be checking everything before i lay my head down at night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
