we were staying at the doubletree moda in istanbul 15-19/8/19 Apologies for the style but it is inappropriate for this hotel to part of the Hilton brand !!! a low maintenance level to the extent that no bath shampoo bottles were replaced after the first night the face towels were taken and service was not returned to such a low level that there was zero reference to real-time disappointment TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Didn't me my expectations!

With going into many details, I will only mention one incident out of many incidents happened during the stay. Before I left the hotel , I have requested a make up room by pressing on the green button clearly showing " Make up room". However , when I returned to hotel I was surprised that both rooms are not serviced. When I ask the front desk about it, they told me that I have not pressed on the green button which is completely not true. I am very disappointed now about making a liar more than the room cleanses. My worst hotel stay experience

Aug 13th, 2019

Before this was my best and only hotel I stay in in Istanbul, now in my current stay I’m getting the exact opposite impression, I booked sea view I got rooftops view of nearby buildings They take the towels and dont put new ones They dont provide 24 hrs food as they say, almost all food are not available at night They don’t clean the rooms nor the bathroom. And much much more I’m going to request a refund I’m so upset I would’ve booked another 5 star hotel with much better service TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Hotel with Great Location, but a few areas for improvement.

Aug 10th, 2019

I just finished a 2 week business trip , and while this hotel has the potential to get a 5 star review, I actually debated to give it 3, or 4 stars. After check-in, the first room I was given, while well appointed, was small, and an unusual shape in the middle section of the hotel, and really hot. A maintenance person came to the room, and the solution, due to the large window area, was to keep the curtains closed. So much for enjoying the nice Bosphorus view! I asked for, and received a better room. For a single person, in cooler weather, the room would have been fine. My next gripe was making use of the nice rooftop pool. I liked to use it after work at 5 or 5:30... but it closed at 6 pm. I think the reason that it closes that early, even though summer sunsets are well after 8 pm, and its still quite hot in early evening, is that at 7 they use the pool deck as a cocktail lounge and for outdoor dinner seating. Management, If you're reading this, keep the pool open until 7, and you should easily be able to move the pool lounge chairs, and replace with cocktail chairs in 30 minutes! One day after work about 5:15, they were all out of towels at the pool. Possibly my biggest gripe was that after some weekend site seeing, I got back to the hotel by 4 pm to enjoy some more pool time, and on BOTH Saturday and Sunday, the pool closed at 3 pm for weddings. They pointed me towards the indoor pool... not nearly so nice to relax, and made me purchase a swim cap. If swim caps are necessary for some reason inside, why not outside too? Breakfast was good, and fortunately opened at 6:00 as I needed to eat quickly before a 6:20 pick up. Unfortunately, they had no coffee available one morning, 2 other mornings while the food was out at that hour, there were no serving utensils. On many mornings I could not find a single employee working in the area. They set up the buffet then when back to sleep? House keeping was inconsistent. On at least 2 days, they did not make up the room until after 5 pm. Some days they gave me wash cloths, others not. Some days they left a floor matt towel for the bathroom, others not...they didn't always clean up my coffee mugs. Despite all the minor flaws above, if business brings me back to the Asian side of Istanbul, I'll probably return to this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfy at its best

The name already represents a sense of what the brand stands for ,and I could say it was a comfortable stay for me. The area is overlooking the sea of Istanbul at a distance and is right next to the busy street of Moda. The hotel is at a walking distance of ferry, but it is also just 10 minutes away from the interstate high speed trains. So, this maybe very convenient for those that plan on to travel turkey using a train. The breakfast served were also extremely delicious and the service provided by the people were caring and attentive. Reception clerks were also accommodating to all demands and I could say the in-hotel room service was extremely delicious. About cleanliness, doubletree hotel was top notch and it had a skybar with pool, which I would recommend for visitors to enjoy. So, if you are coming in for a visit do not forget to pack your swimming suit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
