Very Good Option to Visit Istanbul and to have a nice place to rest

Aug 19th, 2019

The Hotel is a very good option if you will have a few days in Istanbul and practically you will be at the Hotel a few hours per day The room was very comfortable, clean and with the essentials things to have a pleasant stay The Hotel is very near of the interest zones but not in the middle of, for example, You will be in Taksim in 5 minutes or in 20 minutes in Sultanahmet – Yerabatan Sarayi (Basilica Sisterna) by taxi. Take into account, the traffic is very high at principal hours of day The breakfast is very complete with many good typical foods. Our thanks to Chef Ailina for her interest in knowing if we liked her meals If you need some help about a restaurant or arranged a place reservation on one or coordinate an airport transfer, do not hesitate to contact Guest Relationship. Our thanks to Valida for her excellent recommendations and predisposition to help us. Our thanks to the Hotel Staff for your help to give us a pleasant stay !!!!!!!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best hotel!

Aug 19th, 2019

We've had an incredible stay at this hotel. From customer service to location to rooms; everything was great! The hotel is only few mins away from Taksim square (the hotel has a free shuttle) which was very handy. The rooms are so clean and has everything you need. All of the workers are so nice and helpful. They helped us with whatever we needed. Special thanks to Ozan who was great to us since day one! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Mind blowing Customer Service

Aug 18th, 2019

Disclaimer: this review is long. BUT, I have tried to add a lot of valuable details, to clearly show you the level of customer service at this hotel. This is my experience at the Doubletree. My check in, and the people working the front desk were wonderful. However when I arrived to my room the issues began. 1. Wi-Fi connectivity issues. I called the front desk and they sent a gentleman who works in valet to try to resolve the issue. He looked at my computer and saw that it was not connecting and basically looked at me and said there’s nothing he can do. It was pretty clear that this gentleman was not trained on resolving Wi-Fi issues rather works in the valet. So why the front desk sent him to me I don’t understand. 2. The side molding on my bed was completely broken and ripped off the bed. 3. The outlet underneath my desk was completely hanging off the wall with electrical wires and cords exposed. 4. The handle on my mirror closet was jammed, bent and broken causing the closet to not close. 5. There was a humming and at times a loud whistling noise coming from the radio volume controller in the bathroom. Ultimately the technology did not work and the only thing it did was a wheezing sound. 6. The window was broken. When we first arrived into the room we could hear the outside freeway traffic extremely loudly. We called and somebody had to come up and fix the window while we were in the room. As you can see the issues in the room we’re not few. As a Hilton honors member who travels for business continuously I was extremely disappointed with the level of accommodation that was provided by this hotel. Naturally when things like this happen my first instinct is to write a letter to the corporate office, because the level of accommodations were below par from what I expected from a Hilton property. Now what I am going to write below is the reason I have provided you with all the details above. And the reason I have decided to write a review. I want you to clearly understand what I was going through, and how I was feeling. As upset and disappointed as I was there was one woman that works at this hotel who was able to turn my entire experience around with her level of service that she provided to me and my mother. Esra Ozpinar. It began with a simple hello, how was your stay? I explained to her some of the issues that I was having in my room, and she IMMEDIATELY took action to resolve the issues. I was so deeply impressed by her desire to want to resolve the issues immediately and her continuous follow up to ensure that they were resolved. And the best part, is that her impeccable service did not end there. Every single day, she spent up to 30 minutes with me and my mother daily checking in with us, helping us with suggestions around your city, giving us recommendations, setting up boat tours for us, setting up tickets for us at theatrical performances. Communicating with me throughout the day when I had issues in the city and giving me solutions to resolve them. She went above and beyond, so much that all the issues in my room disappeared. Both, because she resolved them, but also (more importantly) because her customer service was impeccable, that I forgot about all the problems that I had. What Esra has naturally you cannot teach. I work in customer service and if I could get Esra to work for my company I would. She is efficient, professional, always of service, has a fantastic outgoing personality, she is authentic and deeply wants guest to have a great time. She goes above and beyond and she did for us. And her service is the only reason all my frustration with the hotel completely disappeared. Imagine what an amazing employee she is that she could make that happen. Employees like her are rare. Believe me, I manage over 700 employees. And if I could get her to work for me, I would. All properties are going to have issues things in the room. What is important is how they are resolved not that they arise. Thank you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent Room, Terrible Location, Poor Service

Aug 17th, 2019

The hotel is located on a very busy road just over a mile on foot from the Taksim Square area. Although the hotel has a free shuttle service, I took the plunge and walked from the airport drop off point near Taksim. This involved walking through a most insalubrious area and down an incredibly steep hill. I was grateful to not have to walk up it. My check in was carried out by a most surly member of staff and short of throwing my card key at me, he couldn’t have been more unfriendly. My room was good, however, with decent bathroom including shower but no tub, safe, tea and coffee making facilities and fridge with mini bar. Unfortunately there was no bottle opener provided. Breakfast was a complete free for all. I patiently waited at the podium to be shown to a table as is customary at Hilton properties only to be told to find one myself. The food was not much better. A poor selection of hot items and the orange juice was in fact watered down squash. I did not bother with breakfast on my last morning despite having it included in my room rate. The experience for dinner at the on site Monte’s restaurant was better. It is located on the seventh floor and affords a nice view across the surrounding area. However, there were still issues. Only one type of white wine was available despite numerous being on the menu. I couldn’t have a Bloody Mary due to a lack of tomato juice nor a macchiato as the coffee machine was broken. Despite all this, I did have a relatively pleasant, inexpensive meal. Red lentil soup to start, meatballs and salad for main and pistachio and semolina soufflé with ice cream for dessert. To drink, I had two bottles of local beer, a glass of white wine and a coffee. Reasonable value at around 240 lira. I was surprised to see many comments suggesting the location of the hotel to be good. Whilst the free shuttle bus transports you to Taksim, it does not start running until 11.15, meaning a taxi ride is really the only other option due to the steep hill ruling out walking and other public transport being too far away. I paid around €105 per night and it was only the quality of my room that prevented me from awarding this hotel a one star rating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
