Don’t stay here!

Rooms have mold, soiled carpet and rotted ceilings. The bathroom shower is rotten and the handle broke. It is close to downtown but their are closer hotels. Hotel needs a complete renovation down to the studs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Getaway trip

We enjoyed our stay and will be using this hotel again the valet parking was great and quick the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable with anything we needed help with or questions we had and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay experience at Doubletree Hilton Memphis downtown

Very depressing lobby. Rundown rooms. Unwelcoming check in without a cookie. Very slow and inefficient service during check out with nearly 15 minute wait with only one counter. No check out bill sent to room TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not horrible

No, not horrible but not great. Water is only warm so if you like hot water for showers or shaving - sorry. Amenities are dated. The restaurant is a Friday’s - friendly but understaffed. Very slow service for food. Location! Well, that is awesome. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I hate to give bad reviews and I try to always be subjective. Let me start by saying my room was $150 plus $28 to do valet parking which is all that is available. So the issues started when we pulled up. The valets were having a hard time keeping up and there were cars everywhere including in the street blocking traffic. So we finally get in and get to check in where I was greeted by a very friendly lady at the counter. She was the highlight of the stay. She checked us in quickly and confirmed that I had asked for a high floor room away from the elevator. She was great. We get to the room and I was not impressed at all. The room was small and had some big oval antique table in between the beds taking up a ridiculous amount of space in the room. The room and restroom was just outdated and the restroom had a roar coming from the vent that was loud enough to hear in the bed that night. We leave at 5:00 to go to the game and stop at the TGI Friday’s in the hotel. (I’m not sure it’s ran by the hotel or not but it was also poorly managed if not). It was an hour wait with 10 empty tables at dinner time on the night of a home game??? When we got back at 9:30 it was still an hour wait. We return from the game and when we get settled in you can hear what sounds like a vehicle revving it’s engine. I think it was a unit on the roof after some investigation but it was loud, happened every minute or so, and didn’t quit all night. The next morning we get ready and head down to get our vehicle. This was a DISASTER. The valet guys were running around like mad. They all looked very confused. There were probably 20 people waiting on their vehicles and I was just upset because the system would be so easy to fix. You give them a number when you get there and they pull your keys from a room and lay them on a counter. The valet comes in and grabs the next set of keys as well as a couple other sets and leaves and hopefully you get your car shortly after that. I didn’t and neither did many others. I watched the process unfold for my vehicle and one gentleman pulls my keys and sets them on the counter. Once my keys were next in line another gentleman comes and takes my keys, sticks them in his pocket, and grabs a few more sets. He pulls around the cars of the people that were behind me. The guy running it ask had I not got my car yet. I said no and he said “what’s your number”. I gave him my number but told him some guy already had my keys. He went into the room and pulled my keys again. Apparently the guy who got my keys decided just to hang mine back up. There was one person who was told they lost their keys. They apologized and said they had a manager coming in to talk to him. He said I don’t need to talk to a manager, I need my keys so I can go pick up my kids. All I kept thinking was this hotel is charging me $28 for this and they should be giving everyone discounts for it Instead. It was horrible and many told me it was always that way. The only positive to this hotel was the location was great. If I can find another hotel within walking distance to everything I will not be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
