Overview

Stylish rooms with luxurious amenities
Rooms near the on-site bar can pick up noise
This trendy hotel waves the luxury flag with trendy designs throughout the lobby and guest rooms, drinks served at the two hip on-site lounges and sweeping views overlooking the Hudson River and the glimmering New York City skyline. And the extravagance extends to the hotel's whimsical accommodations, decorated elaborate canopy-style headboards and 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens as well as bathrooms with Carrara marble and stainless steel fixtures. Despite the stylish rooms, some previous visitors do note that the accommodations are slightly compact considering the high nightly rate. Most recent guests, though, can't stop raving about the sophisticated rooftop bar, PHD Terrace, along with the hotel's enviable location, which places visitors within steps of beloved Manhattan attractions, like Central Park and Fifth Avenue. Guests do warn that rooms near the bar and on-site lounge, The Rickey, experience noise into the late hours.

Part hotel, part Kafkaesque dream, this Midtown spot specializes in style over comfort but is still quite livable, despite some over-the-top design features — and noise from the scenesters headed to the rooftop bar.
