Right at home!!!

Aug 19th, 2019

Thank you again Dreams Villamagna for the great hospitality !! I always enjoy that welcoming champagne at the lobby and having a concierge to help guests with whatever enquiry we might have at the time. Big thank you to Carolina who helped me out with a couple of things, she's so sweet and kind. I'm never shy to ask for help or ask questions I know they can help. We spent 1 week there and as usual we like hanging out by the pool, the beach has gentle waves with a shoreline that provides a tranquil walk for those who appreciate that. I'm more interested in the shade, drinks and the activities (sports and entertainment) available at the resort, just pick one that suits you the best. I like biking so having that available is awesome. Our group guide was Nestor who is a gem!! He is enthusiastic, informative, kind, funny, and attentive and made sure our group members didn't get lost. He took us to visit a couple of locations away from the resort, which gave us a better feel of our experience in Nuevo Vallarta. Nestor, you're a rock star!! More shout out to members who made our visit to the resort so much comfortable and laid back : >>> Sports, entertainment, night shows: Xiomara ( black jack table and mezcal !!) so good to see you again!!! , Daniel (ceramic painting), Julia ( tequila testing ), Henry, Alex (Alejandro) , Aldo, Alberto, Nestor , Julia : your willingness to make sure guests are having a great time goes beyond the tequilas shots . You made us feel right at home. Our 11 year old son had a blast : played most activities (beach volleyball, water volleyball, polo, ping pong, ceramic painting, bingo, loteria. To get him out of the pool was a challenge as he loved it so much. >>> By the pool area: Alonso, Geraldo !! I'm glad you walked by the pool often to make sure guests were hydrated . >>El Patio : Paola (hostess) so good to see you again!! , Rosa Valero ( for that surprise treat you brought to my husband), Jonathan, Jose and Jesus !! Thank you for a great time again. >> Coco Café : Anthony , he does room service but was attending the café to cover for his coworker. He's very professional and kind. >> World Café (buffet) : Gladys and Mae, omelet queens !!! TIP: if you don't want to be bothered by the friendly and harmless iguanas, don't eat by the pool or have a drink with fruits sticking out of it : the iguanas will come straight to them and startle you. Again : they are harmless. The property is huge, our room was big enough for the 3 of us, very clean, beds were comfy, tons of pillows, the view was pretty awesome too, 6th floor, above the lobby, I ate a lot on this trip , I'm sure I added a couple of pounds in a week, but I went to the gym, located just across the lobby by the spa. By the spa guests can also find the medical center, very handy. In the shop nearby you can find the usual meds: Tylenol, for example. Villamagna, thank you once more for your hospitality ! Much appreciated . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice family resort

Aug 19th, 2019

Dreams Villamagna is a very good vacation resort. The rooms are very large, clean, and comfortable. The food is quite good, especially the breakfast buffet, but also we enjoyed the Mexican food and the rooftop Gohan sushi with a remarkable ocean view. The grounds could use a bit of upgrading, namely the shade canopies by the pool, which are not very attractive to look at from one's hotel room, and the lobby and elevator lobbies could use more potted plants. The pillows were a bit too high and firm for my taste, too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel

Aug 19th, 2019

Nice hotel the room was perfect for my wife and my two young kids. The food was good and the help was amazing. The Kids club was a hit for my twin 5 year olds the kids wanted to keep going back. Beach was really nice no rocks or seaweed. There are essentially 3 pools I recommend the one closest to the ocean it has an infinity edge pool that looks like the pool empties into the ocean. I played golf two days the courses were nice and very inexpensive, we were in the pool with dolphins and went on a day excursion on a boat snorkeling and to a sandy beach. I recommend booking the excursions when you get to the hotel and not wait like we did because the one we wanted to go on was booked the last two days of our stay so we missed out. Really the only negative thing I can say is there was not enough help around the pool areas so it was difficult getting a drink at times. Aside that I would recommend the hotel. A fabulous place to relax 🥰

Aug 18th, 2019

Myself and my daughter arrived home yesterday after a fabulous week at this hotel, I definitely recommend it. The hotel staff were wonderful and friendly, especially our pool waiter Julio, he went above and beyond to make sure we were never without a drink and gave us good recommendations of new cocktails to try, the pools were wonderful, the restaurants were great and I loved Coco’s Cafe. Hopefully we will visit again soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Relaxing, enjoyable stay

Aug 18th, 2019

I traveled solo from August 15-19 and stayed at Dreams Villamagna. Room: I stayed on the 4th floor of the tower and had an ocean view. The room was clean and nicely appointed - bath, separate shower, water closet, jacuzzi on the balcony, king sized bed, couch, etc. I was comfortable but there were small details missed — no turn down service one night, only received chocolates with turn down service once, no slippers in the room, never received a daily agenda, etc. My mini fridge was restocked daily — 4 bottles of water, 2 orange juice boxes, a can of Coke Lite, and bottles of Coca Cola, Sprite, Fanta, plus a couple others. I sat on my balcony most evenings to enjoy the lightning storms. While it never kept me up or became a nuisance, I was surprised at how easily sound carried. I could hear conversations happening on the ground floor, the music in the lobby from my balcony. That realization deterred me from using my balcony jacuzzi. Beach: A pool person myself, I spent little time on the beach other than a daily morning walk. The beach here is not the white sand and blue waters of the Caribbean; however, it holds its own. The sand glistens black and gold in the sun. Many visitors enjoyed boogie boarding on the waves. It is walkable for miles. The mountains framing the coastline make for a beautiful, distinctive view. Pools: I suppose you could say there were 5 pools but all were connected by decorative waterway which made them feel as if they were 1 winding pool. 4-5 iguanas call Dreams home and occasionally joined patrons for a dip. :) Chairs were plenty but umbrellas scarce. I wish an area had been designated as adults-only. While I understand Dreams is a family resort; solo travelers, couples, and adults with teenage children would appreciate an area removed from little ones. Pool service was great but I found myself missing a swim-up bar as well. Restaurants: As expected and enjoyable. I opted for the breakfast buffet every morning and there was nothing I could have asked for that wasn’t available. (You simply must try the green juice!!) Portofino, the one adult-only dinner option, was my mainstay for evening meals. I highly recommend the chocolate lava cake!!! As the only air conditioned, non- buffet dinner option, Portofino was an obvious choice. Across the restaurants I visited I never had to wait for a table and received great service. Spa: The spa here was more reasonably priced than other Dreams and Secrets properties I’ve visited. My hydrotherapy circuit and Swedish massage were delightful! Crowd: The guests of the resort we’re predominantly Spanish speaking - Mexican, I presume. Brits, Canadians, and Americans rounded out the patrons in that respective order. I don’t mean to offend, but if a prevalence of Spanish-speakers offends you in any way — stay home. Staff: Guest-facing staff spoke English without any difficulty but I overheard some guests complaining about the English proficiency of staff. Adolfo, a pool waiter, quickly established himself as my favorite. He was attentive and timely, checking in regularly to see if I needed anything. It was offered but I was not pressured to participate in the vacation club presentation. Overall: I would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway - especially families. Please consider bringing 1s and 5s to tip staff. They work very hard to keep you comfortable. While this is an all-inclusive resort, a little something extra goes a long way to show your appreciation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
