Overall nice stay

Mar 2nd, 2020

The Drury Houston near the Galleria was a fairly typical Drury Hotel. We originally booked the airport Drury, but it changed ownership outside of the Drury family. Because we booked with points, Drury corporate helped us move our reservation to this Drury. I was pleased with how easy it all was. Also since we didn't have an early flight, the distance from the airport wasn't a problem. When we arrived a couple of hours before normal check-in time, they did not have any rooms in our category ready. Because they were booked full, there also were not any upgrades available. We were booked in a deluxe king, but since we were only staying one night, I asked if there was a normal king room available and ready and they said yes. It was still on the top floor and was still a nice sized room. Like most Drury's the perks were nice. Free parking, evening social, and hot breakfast. Not to mention popcorn soda when we got back later that evening. The area was not great for getting around without a car, but my husband drove to a nearby park and really enjoyed walking around that area. Even though the evening socials have greatly declined at other hotels, the Drury social was still enough for our dinner, especially since we had a large lunch. Breakfast in the morning also provided a nice variety of good food. If I return to the area for a business trip, I'll happily return to this Drury. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Could use some updating but good

Feb 21st, 2020

The room could use updates, but it was comfortable and clean. The evening kick back was enjoyable, with good choices and drinks. The bartender was not the most friendly but I found the desk staff to be very friendly, There was a good breakfast offered as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Galleria Hotel at Much Lower Cost

Feb 19th, 2020

This is a typical Drury Hotel except it is right in the middle of the Houston Galleria area. Many of the other hotels in this area charge for parking and, sometimes, even the hated resort fee! Drury does not! They also have both a complimentary breakfast and late afternoon/early evening snacks and drinks; including alcoholic drinks. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Parking is not only free, but also gated for security. The hotel is clean and there is always hot coffee. The seating area for breakfast is a little cramped, but that's probably because they need the tables for all the breakfast eaters! All-in-all, I think it's one of the best hotels in the area for your money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location location

Feb 10th, 2020

This time we visit Houston for a health reason. I've been to 3 Drury Inn hotel before, so far this hotel is the friendliest and customer oriented place! I love the kick back time and surely the free hot breakfast (always great!). The lady in the front desk (the long hair lady I think Jamillette) was so nice and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
