A Shattered Romantic Weekend

Jul 16th, 2019

In July 2018, I attended a convention held by a Florida organization (where I am a member) that focuses on professionals and their careers. The association held its reception at the Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa. During the reception an auction was held –and I purchased a Two-Night Stay with Breakfast at the resort. A romantic weekend was planned for July 12th & 13th, departing on the 14th. We arrived on Friday, July 12th at approximately 4pm, excited to enjoy our weekend. We walked the property and truly enjoyed the grounds. During our stay we had the pleasure of interacting with Jason/valet, Chris/bartender, Nathalie/Temple hostess, Rosalind and Greg/wait staff at Temple and other staff. All of this was overshadowed by false accusations ...... At approximately 9:40pm on Friday (while off the property at a restaurant with friends) we received a phone call on the cell number we provided. The person identified himself as Isaac (Head of Security) for the hotel. He said that the TV in our room was loud, annoying guests and he wanted permission to enter the room and cut the TV off. We thought this was a bit odd, but we granted permission. On Saturday at almost the same time, 9:30 – 9:40pm we were in our room and received a phone call from security saying that the TV was loud and disturbing other guests. We emphatically denied that the TV was loud and stated that there were no loud noises coming from our room. Approximately 10 minutes later (3) men came to our room, Brent Muni (Manager), Isaac (Security) and a third gentleman not identified. Isaac said that there were noise complaints from a guest – specifically our TV. We immediately invited them into the room and showed them the “volume bar” on the TV which was less than ¼ . Brent and Isaac acknowledged that the TV was not loud. We mentioned that these complaints were uncanny in that – this complaint occurred at almost the same time as the previous night’s complaint. At this point it was not clear as to whether the hotel staff wanted us to leave the hotel, or there would be more false accusations. We called a good friend and shared the situation – they suggested that we leave the hotel on Sunday – not to extend our stay, not to use any devices that may cause noise and to ensure that our hotel room was inspected by daytime management and security prior to our check-out. This would hopefully avoid any future false accusations to include destroying or damaging something the in room. We are fortunate to have traveled both nationally and internationally, stayed at literately hundreds of hotels and resorts and have never had anything like this happen before. Now the real – kicker. After we checked out, we were informed that the guests that were complaining was a family of (5) husband, wife and (3) pre-teen age girls, in the room next to ours. Yes, all (5) in one hotel room. Logistically, not sure how this would work without “someone” being very close to the adjoining wall where our TV was located. And the reason for the “same-timing for the Friday and Saturday night complaints” -- the parents wanted complete silence so that their children could go to sleep before 10pm. Why the hotel evening staff refused to acknowledge this as an obvious basis for the invalid and false complaints …… and their failure to apologize for their unnecessary harassment of us .... is baffling and needs to be reviewed. Two things for certain …..the complaints had no basis whatsoever ….and our romantic weekend was shattered. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Views

Jul 15th, 2019

This hotel was central to a very nice downtown area and a Publix was just across the street. The staff were extremely friendly in all areas. The pool was nice, drinks and food were served poolside. Pool staff placed the towels and made sure you had ice and water upon request. The view of the ocean from the rooms and pool were amazing. Rooms were nice and clean. The balconies were well equipped with a swinging hammock. All in all a very nice hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Thin walls - unreasonable demands

Jul 13th, 2019

We are here now. Last night - thank goodness. We paid $400 a night to stay here. We just received a call from “fraud prevention/security” at 10:30 pm requesting that we turn down the volume of our television, which was NOT loud. Earlier, my boyfriend could hear me laugh from the elevator way down the hall - he said loudly. We can hear everyone’s toilet flush all day and night. Ridiculous. Do not stay here. There are far better options. This place sucks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Palm Beach Getaway

Jul 13th, 2019

Service was top notch from Checking to checkout. Staff went out of their way to accommodate our entire group of 7 and they were super friendly as well. Family pool is very nice with short walk to beach. Temple Orange restaurant was great for breakfast and we went for dinner one night as well. The hotel itself is beautifully designed from Lobby to the rooms. I would highly recommend For family or even couples. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

5 stars service and staff

Jul 9th, 2019

This was our first time at the Eau Palm beach and it will not be out last. The checking in was very pleasant, and we had booked a beach front room. The room was clean and well equipped. Had lunch at the restaurant as soon as we come in and it was very good. The menu is interesting with middle eastern flavors and dishes. That night the lobby had a live music and sushi bar. The eau have one of the most friendliest hotel staff, everyone is extremely and service is their mission. Location is perfect, you can walk across the street to a shopping center and take the pike to the pier. Definitely will come back because of the service and staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
