Great Location Near Downtown St. Albans

Jul 9th, 2019

Very basic hotel near the downtown area of St. Albans. I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay but it served us well for a night. There are two buildings. One is further back which is where our room was. Seemed a bit undone like they were working on the outside area still. Our electricity wasn't great either. Several sockets didn't work, including the AC socket which I had to move to a different one as it was pretty hot. Overall feeling of moist in the room - kind of like humid all the time and a wet feel to the sheets even when the AC wasn't running. It was quiet so that was nice. I did see another guest with a dog but we didn't hear any barking or noise associated with that. Plenty of parking as we were in the second lot. The breakfast was a bit silly - bananas and coffee offered so don't think you'll have a real breakfast despite it being listed as part of the deal. It was fine for one night while passing through the area and we also got a great last minute price so I think it was very affordable. In the end, I'd go 3.5 stars closer to 4 than a 3. Basic amenities and deluxe price

Oct 31st, 2017

Displaced due to extended power outage and other local hotels were full. Priced higher than other nearby hotels. Room was smaller than I expected, but it was clean. Bathroom had been updated, but some damage ignored -- not even sure how a room on a slab has a creaky floor. The bed was nearly a torture device -- very thin mattress and a platform was a rock. Weird smell and a large 'air-freshener' hidden behind the TV. I was happy that I wouldn't hear interstate noise, but it was close to tracks and train horns. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Econo Lodge

This place is ok for a night. Very neat , & clean , but the mold Oder is really bad in here if you have allergies & sinus, or Asthma , this will not be the place , & for older couples , kids, please go else where, if your staying a night that might be ok, the staff is pretty ok. They need to take all the carpet out and do a whole cleaning , or call someone in to do a mold smell remover or what ever, I found out if you cut the heat on it dies a little . 😁 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice place to stay

Nov 13th, 2015

I was recently displaced from my apartment due to a fire and needed a place to stay for the night. I was pleasantly surprised that this little motel was super clean and very comfortable. The woman at the desk was oh so pleasant too. Would recommend this model anytime. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good for basic over night stop

Motel is an older New England one story motel. Some updating is done, but more is needed in the rooms....especially the TVs. The bathroom was updated and very nice....toilets are all "assist" height. The managers were so friendly and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
