Great facility for the money

Small but clean and comfortable hotel with an excellent staff. Catering to individuals and families visiting NY Presbyterian Hospital, the staff is very helpful and provides excellent service. Because of our timing in the hotel, we dealt oprimarily with Che and Tara. They provided warm, accommodating service and help and went “above and beyond” the typical. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone needing reasonable priced accommodations within walking distance of NY Presbyterian Hospital. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean and professional

We had an unfortunate family emergency that required an unplanned trip to NYC recently. As we drove 7 hours to Manhattan we had to make reservations on the fly to a hotel close to a local hospital. The staff at Edge Hotel could not have been more professional, patient and caring. The rooms we booked were clean and fresh. A bit snug but then again we only planned to sleep there and shower in the morning. I found the breakfast room convenient and adequate. There is a complimentary continental breakfast offered and I liked the fact it was open before the announced morning time. The proximity to the hotel was a big plus as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is very lovely and clean. We had one "deal breaker" issue with the bathroom. The entire rectangular bathroom floor is tile and relatively level, with 2 water drains. There is no shower enclosure with a door, no bathtub. A shower curtain is the only thing that separates the shower "area" from the rest of the bathroom. In addition, there is no permanent raised "lip" on the floor separating the shower "area" from the rest of the bathroom floor. During a shower, the drain under the shower head did not eliminate the water on the floor as efficiently as it should. The second drain is in front of the sink, which is right next to the shower curtain. After a shower, water collected on the floor in the shower area & spread across the floor in front of the sink. Half the bathroom floor had standing water after a shower. This caused the tiles to be VERY slippery and there were no rubber mats on the floor. I nearly slipped twice while gingerly walking in the bathroom. This is an extremely hazardous situation. Also, if one person is showering, another person cannot use the sink/mirror without standing in water. The door to the bathroom is directly across from the sink. After someone took a shower, it was impossible to enter the bathroom without stepping in water. This is completely unacceptable! This hotel was in a perfect location for our needs, but we will NOT return unless the Edge Hotel corrects this unacceptable bathroom design. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best in town

First time to washington heights. My wife is dominican and we came in to see anthony santos perform at united palace (i think i was the only white guy there :). There was a little hiccup with elevator, but TARA went above and beyond and was very accommodating. Will probably return based on my experience with her alone. Staff seems friendly in general although manager seems a little hands offish (based on a phone call i overheard). Anyway, great spot to stay in the heights. Walking distance to theatre + Elsa Chicharron + late night Chimi trucks = great trip :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
