Mediocre for the price

Jan 27th, 2020

Pros: The room was really nice...loved the suite style and the bed was comfortable. The set up on the beach and pool were top notch. Cons: We had $350 charged to our room from the previous occupant and the hotel was less than courteous in dealing with it. My husband went to the front desk after getting the bill and explained that we had only charged 2 drinks to the room. He had the receipt and receipts from all of our meals outside of the hotel. The girl at the front desk was skeptical and said she needed to go through an 8 inch stack of receipts to find each charge and that we’d have to wait. We were ready to check out She told him that he didn’t need to wait at the desk, he could wait in the room. I said no, we had plans to be somewhere and needed to go. We went downstairs and the clerk said they had found the receipts so we were all set. My husband asked to talk to the manager as the situation was not handled kindly or with understanding. Who stands at the desk and says they were charged trying to get out of what they spent?! I can maybe see it at other hotels, but not somewhere that changes what we spent per night. The manager shrugged it off and says mistakes happen. This is wrong. Customer service is clearly not a thing anymore. Very disappointing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Edgewater Beach Hotel - Barefoot, Laidback Lifestyle

Jan 20th, 2020

The Edgewater Beach Hotel is bordered by banks of swaying palms, encompassed by an expanse of gleaming, white sandy beach and right next to the panoramic, blue water vistas of the Gulf of Mexico. If your a city slicker, from here you can stroll through Naples in a 'shop t'ill you drop' fashion at haute couture retailers, fanciful jewelry outlets, and hand-crafted memento boutiques. The hotel has a stunning location that provides a laid-back environment along with an amazing array of recreational amenities and luxurious facilities. The crown jewel of the Edgewater is the 7 mile pristine sea side in combination with the 2 heated pools that together frame the property like a watery T-square. You can keep up with your daily workout at the well endowed fitness centre, eat and drink your heart away in unsurpassed dining options that also provide gazing privileges out over the Gulf. The hotel also sports ultra spacious suites with enchanting private balconies situated on Naples Bay. In addition, all guests of the Edgewater enjoy extended amenities as they are welcome at the nearby sister property, the Naples Grande Resort Club, for use of their championship golf facility, more dinning, further recreational activities, and ...oolala .....a spa. As I walked into the Edgewater, the architecture of the entrance guided me through the the lobby towards the picturesque outdoor pools located on the beachfront. The view was so enticing that I want to run and jump into the water, suitcases and all, but first things first, I had to check out my One Bedroom Beachfront King. It boasted many residential comforts including a kitchenette, generous living area with sectional couch, breakfast bar, king bed and of course the mighty balcony. The room seemed relatively fresh, offering a relaxed, contemporary vibe with soothing neutral colours and pops of colour. This boudoir was space generous, with walls dotted in coastal art, hardwood floors and mix 'n' match of groovy furniture items. With my balcony, I could see the beach while lying in bed, enough to encourage me to be bed ridden all day. The bath, again, area generous with separate shower and tub and all the usual toiletries The pool/beach combo is the real perk of the Edgewater. This coveted beach is a well manicured sea front with beach furniture (cabanas, lounges umbrellas) carefully arranged as if they were living room pieces. Beach driven activities abound, from scuba diving, sailing, wind surfing to snorkelling, paddle-boarding and biking. Of course you just swim or what about dolphin hunting or just piddling around barefoot on the beach tickling your toes in the sand (my favourite). It's hard to go wrong basking under the sun while relaxing in a lounge chair, letting the sea breezes sooth your body, with a coastal cocktail in your hand. The piece de resistance; however, is watching the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico from the beachfront fire pits, again with a Tiki cocktail in your hand. Dipping into the hotel pools is such a refreshing experience especially if you are sun wasting by your beach excursions. These watery sanctuaries offer direct views of the Gulf of Mexico and are framed with full grown palms that dapple the pool grounds and provide a natural umbrella for the guests. The dining options included at the Edgewater include: COAST:...globally-inspired cuisine and breathtaking views of the palm-lined court yard and the beach beyond make this eatery a culinary gem at the Edgewater. A lobby positioned restaurant providing indoor and alfresco seating, it serves all day meal parts with coastal flair. An ideal place for me to tuck in some fresh seafood in the form of New England Lobster Rolls (super tasty), washed down with yet another Tiki cocktail and ending up with my 'go to' dessert; Key Lime Pie. POOL BAR:...bustling, popular venue serving fresh Florida cuisine from the kitchen of the Coast restaurant. The cool coastal cocktails here are hard to resist, as I found out from my bill. Staff earns praise for their professionalism and friendly demeanour. Concierge options were comprehensive and my stay exceeded expectations, in large part, to the dedication of the staff. So, if you have an urge to romp shoeless for a feeling of escape and throw your stress to the wind, in a beach-chic resort environment where an ideal beach is at your front door....then try the ......Edgewater Beach Hotel......Barefoot, Laidback Lifestyle. Edgewater - January 2020

Jan 20th, 2020

You can't pick a bad time to come to Naples in the winter but you'd be wasting your time if you stayed anywhere other than the Edgewater. Our family tried multiple venues over the years before discovering the Edgewater and have now stayed here four years in a row. The resort is small enough that it feels personal and if you stay a few days you'll get to know the staff that makes this hotel such a delight. If you're like us and come to Naples for long days on the beach, you have unparalleled access with the beach and pool steps from your room and the beach staff (Teagan, Allen & Cameron) won't let more than a minute go by without putting a cold drink in your hand. I can't recommend the Edgewater enough, the entire experience from check-in to check-out gets better every year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location, location, location

Jan 19th, 2020

The Edgewater is one of the few hotels that is located directly on the gulf. The beach is only steps away from any room here All the rooms are suites, each with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, dishes, dishwasher etc. We usually eat in, a couple of days as week, as we are here usually here for several weeks. What really makes the Edgewater special, is the staff. You are treated as family as soon as you arrive, and it only gets better. Since we are on the beach most days from 9 to 4, what makes our day, every day is the beach staff. Allen, Cameron, Teagan, Jeff and Joe remembered us from our last stay by name, which is always special. This time, we had our daughter and our two grandkids come visit us. Joe gave them both a private paddle board lesson on his day off, which made their visit here. And they have complimentary milk and cookies everyday up by the dining room There is a reason we come here several times a year, for the past 5-6 year since we discovered the Edgewater. Love the Edgewater

Jan 19th, 2020

Once again our stay at the Edgewater was fantastic! Location is awesome and just a really great vibe from the entire staff. The beach and pool attendants - CJ, Joey and all the boys were top notch. Very courteous and attendant to all of our needs. CJ even remembered our names from last year’s visit! We will be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
