VERY DISAPPOINTING

Apr 21st, 2019

Disappointing to say the least... My wife was recovering from a new hip... 7 weeks.. Not at all ADA Friendly.. Hotel holds you captive with bars and restaurants.. VERY Expensive..Some food good.. Others a TOTAL rip... Rooms are nice.. Spa and Pool hard to get to and Spa downstairs and Dismal.. Main hotel Closed.. Beautiful Beach... I’m sure there are much better values for Money... Very Friendly Staff TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dilapidated Hotel, Bad Service

Apr 20th, 2019

I can’t say enough bad things about this hotel. Overall, it’s dilapidated. While the lobby and guest rooms are nice, the rest of the facilities are in disrepair. The pool area is particularly gross. As for the service, it is friendly but incompetent. Our room wasn’t ready on time, and when it was finally ready was missing some key items, like Kleenex. When I complained, management was indignant: one of my two rooms was ready on time, and the Kleenex was brought a few hours after my request. That’s the kind of hotel this is: they’ll do half the job, charge you the full price, and act like you’re unreasonable for expecting to get what you pay for. If this hotel was $150 per night, the service would be adequate, but for $600 per night, it’s absolutely terrible. Management assured me they get plenty of rave reviews; I find it hard to believe standards are so low among guests. I hope this hotel avoids bankruptcy only so that the staff and their bad attitudes don’t spread to other Bermuda hotels and ruin them. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

CLIMB THE HILL OR CALL FOR A LIFT

Apr 17th, 2019

This Elbow Resort is a fantastic place, built on a steep hill and facing the ocean. It is modern, the rooms are spacious, the personnel is very helpful, the pool is heated, what else can you ask for in such a paradisiac resort? One word of caution, though, that is in all the guides, but needs to be emphasized : steep hill means VERY steep and if you do not have good legs, call for a lift, the employees have small golf carts that will carry you. Easy enough. Enjoy your stay, the restaurants are excellent too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Birthday Celebration

Cafe Lido is still an outstanding restaurant with exceptional service and an outstanding culinary experience. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant with ocean view inside or in the outside portion where you hear and see the ocean TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel in Lousy Shape

Mar 31st, 2019

Sadly, the review from BoriGreco on 3/23/19 is spot on. Prior to last week, I last stayed EB several years ago, well before new ownership bought it from Mandarin Oriental. The deterioration was remarkable. Water damage, weather and neglect have taken a big toll on the property, leaving it in need of significant remediation, not just a fresh coat of paint. It didn't seem like any major effort was underway to renovate, repair or remediate anything there. The hotel manager was very sweet and professional when we raised the issue of the strong smell of mildew in our beachfront cottage, which rendered the room uninhabitable for us. But a good manager and friendly staff can't do much to salvage the situation if the owner isn't prepared to take a hard look at every inch of the place and invest heavily in revitalizing the place.
