Great location

Apr 22nd, 2019

Nice rooms. Real wood fireplaces must be lit by hotel staff so plan ahead...no “on” switch Only major disappointment was that the bar closed early each weekend night over a holiday weekend. On Saturday over ten guests wanted drinks after returning from dinners out. The bartender would not serve and suggested everyone go down the street to anouther hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice overnight stay

Apr 21st, 2019

The location is great and the staff was very friendly. We loved the room size and the quality of the room. We had plans to go to the lensic that night for a show. From the hotel we easily walked to where we wanted to go and the show. We would definitely consider staying here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A tired hotel - wait a year or two

Apr 14th, 2019

This is a beautiful hotel that desperately needs freshening up, from the stained and worn carpeting in every hall to the broken window in our friends' balcony door to the weak shower pressure we all observed. Unfortunately, the freshening is starting with an outdoor pool, being built while we were there. This meant literal jackhammering of concrete outside our window, starting at 7:20 am one morning, and awakening us from a lovely nap at 6:30 pm the next day. We complained and the woman at the desk gestured vaguely at a form letter that we had (evidently) been given at check-in, which said that there'd be some construction. We asked to speak to a manager - that didn't happen. The next day, I had an unfortunately-timed day in bed, thanks to some bad potato salad the day before - the jackhammering did NOT help. This is all so unfortunate - the Eldorado has a marvelous reputation and the location is stellar. Our breakfasts in the hotel were very good, and the service there excellent. But the shuttle evidently has a strict 2-mile radius - we asked to be taken to the end of Canyon Road, which couldn't be done, but we could be taken to Geronimo, a block closer? Every trip request ended with us taking an Uber. My hope is that in a couple of years, the Eldorado will be returned to its former glory, and that our experience will be replaced by a much better one. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place for a visit to Santa Fe

Great location with an exceptional staff. Leratoe at the front disk went out of her way to accommodate my sudden change in plans and gave great advise for an outstanding stay. Shawn at the Agave restaurant also went out of his way to ensure we had an exceptional meal. Walking distance to all the main attractions in down town. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I do not recommend this hotel.

Apr 5th, 2019

I booked this hotel for my family of five and was completely surprised by the poor quality and lack of customer service. This is a massive hotel with hallways that stretch for what seems like miles. It strikes me as a place that cranks out weddings during the high season as it feels vacant and empty like the hotel in the film The Shining during low season. We visited in April and the 300 room hotel only had one person who acted as bell hop, valet and general attendant for the entire hotel! Needless to say, we waited in the driveway behind three cars trying to check in (waiting for that one bell hop) for 2o minutes and you cannot self park. Then, we waited behind a line of people in the lobby to check in. It wasn’t busy... it was just that the people seemed half asleep and were slow. This hotel is seriously understaffed and poorly managed. It took 45 minutes to get in the door and into our room. Once inside, we had one roll of toilet paper (for 5 people) and no extras anywhere, only what was on the roll. We asked for extra TP, towels and tissues three times over two days before anyone responded There was a large half smoked cigar and trash on the rooms balcony. Upon check out, the one lone bell hop never arrived so we lugged our own luggage to the carport. Finally, the concierge was not friendly at all. When I inquired about charges on my bill he seemed defensive and angry. I was very disappointed with the customer service of this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
