Something’s Could Have Been Better

I stayed at this hotel 6 nights for our family reunion. I got in town early. Check in was quick and easy thanks to the app. I was also able to check in early for no additional cost. I was chose room 208 on the app. It was ready for me nice and clean but dated. Left and came back my room smelled horrible. It rained and the carpet was soaked and left that terrible smelled. Called the front desk was moved to room 215. Wasn’t big like the other room I had. So I asked them once they fixed the problem could I move back they said they weren’t renting the room out to anyone because of the situation. Walked out my room the next day and I see it was given to another family. I didn’t complain though I let it slide. In new room the tub kept getting stopped up. That was aggravating. Housekeeping skipped cleaning out room a few days and I had to keep calling for fresh bath cloths and towels. Used the laundry room one the 3rd and 6th floors. They could really use some updating. On the flip side breakfast was great every morning, the daily evening reception was a hit for my family, the pool was nice, the koi pond was peaceful, and the food we were served at our meet and greet and gala was great. Location is very convenient to all types of shopping and dining. I would stay here again if all the other issues could be avoided. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very Disappointed

We’ve stayed at this hotel many times before this visit. This time it was very disappointing. Now we’re used to staying in Hilton hotels and the service that comes with that level hotel. This hotel is used a lot for people leaving on cruises and for events at the convention center, so it stays pretty busy, but when I had to call down to the front desk, you always felt that you were bothering them. The rooms were tired. The carpet needs replacing, stains all over them. When we first got to the room the tv in the bedroom had problems. It was fuzzy and pixelated. We had someone look at it twice, but it was never fixed. The remote was missing from the front room, the clock/alarm clock didn’t work. I asked about a TV channel listing and was told just use the one in the grey Embassy book, except none of the channels were right in their book. One of the biggest thing for us was the Wi-Fi internet SUCKED!! First off it was very hard to get on it, then IF you were lucky enough to get on it, it would kick you off in a few minutes. We tried multiple times to add the “high speed” internet for $4.95 per day just so we could get online, but that never worked either. We had good friends who were there too, and he is a VSP with Publix and desperately need to use his internet too and he couldn’t get on either, so it wasn’t just our room. My husband went down the next day to the front desk to find out if there was anything that could be done and the lady was very rude to him. She just kept saying that everyone gets free wi-fi. He asked her about why when we would add the high speed internet that it dart any better and she just kept saying everybody gets free internet. He finally came back up to the room exasperated. We were there for 5 nights and it never worked. I know people can be pigs, but if you tried to go down for the happy hour reception it looked like a pig sty. It was so dirty I wouldn’t go down after the first night. The first night we were there we were going to eat at their restaurant The E Spot and we waited for someone to come around to seat us but that never happened. We finally found a young man who worked there and asked if he could please get us to a table. Then we just sat at the table for about 10 minutes and no one came. There was a waitress serving other tables but no one showed up to ours. So I asked her and she said “oh, that’s so and so’s table, they haven’t been by?” So she finally came over and took our order. Now the breakfast was great, but there are so many people that you stand in line for 10-15 minutes just to get some eggs and bacon. Now there were some really nice and helpful employees there, it was a few bad apples that just made it not the level of service we’re used to from Hilton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel

We enjoyed our stay here. Pool is nice , close to places to eat. 2 miles to beach so we ubered. Don’t take hotel shuttle to beach because hotel was charing $15 but uber it was $7. We enjoyed the pool, cocktail hours and breakfast. Enjoyed our stay TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best place to stay in Ft Lauderdale

We have stayed here every time before our cruise. Very nice hotel. Clean, central location to the port and beach front, yet away from the crowd. Service is key for us and Kathleen at the front desk is excellent. She is warm,friendly, helpful, and treats every one like family and you are staying at her home. Every time we have stayed it was comfortable and the reason we return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed here for a week and received Great service from Lavainie & Charoni

Charoni went out of her way to make my booking and check-in process simple. She was so pleasant on the phone and very helpful and she came out in person when we checked in to meet us. She went above and beyond and was very accommodating. Spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed it.... great breakfast , clean and spacious rooms. Lavainie did an awesome job keeping our room up to par. She took pride in her job and provided needed supplies. We could definitely tell the difference when she didn't do our room.
