Good hotel for attending friends wedding

Sep 8th, 2019

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room is really clean and tidy. The only problems was the limited choice of food for the complementary breakfast. However, all other things were excellent. I wish I have explored more of this hotel. We will come back for sure! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful stay at Embassy Suites Golf Resort Greenville SC

Sep 8th, 2019

Don’t even hesitate when thinking of a stay at this wonderful hotel. From the moment you check in you are greeted and welcomed by a wonderful staff. We were there three days, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and evening reception great, lots of amenities. The main level is huge and great for large gatherings. Lots of places outside to also sit and visit. Not far from downtown and easy to get around. Other hotels would have a hard time reaching the level of service and friendliness we found at this hotel. Nice Accommodations and most friendly and courteous Staff.

Sep 3rd, 2019

I have stayed at this Embassy Suites in Greenville on several occasions while on business. It is my choice because of the ease of parking, supper friendly staff, value, reasonable location to restaurants and shopping. Plus the food from the restaurant / bar is very good too if you choose not to eat out! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not impressed/ distrustful

Sep 2nd, 2019

We stayed here from 8/31 until 9/2 upon arriving check-in was fairly easy. When my family got to the room I was a little disappointed after reading the reviews about how lovely this hotel was. I was hoping for something much nicer especially booking on the “premium” floor. The furniture is dated. The design is lacking, dreary and dull in browns and tans. Over all that was not a big deal just not very appealing and not representative of the lobby and other public areas that were finished and designed nicely. There was a slight odor in room possibly mildew but unsure. The beds were full size beds they only have King size or full size and we needed 2 beds so we had to take the full size beds. One thing my mother-in-law mentioned was it was hard for her to reach the toilet paper when seated on the commode. It was a bit far but manageable for myself and my husband. We imagine it may be difficult for someone who is elderly and my husband thought his mother could have easily fallen off the seat while reaching for the paper. Again not a huge deal but the details add up to either a great experience or not... The temperature in the room was uneven to manage. When putting the a.c. on the living area gets much cooler than the bedroom. So the bedroom gets hot and when we turn up the a.c. the living room area that my child was sleeping in (on the sofa sleeper) got cold. The beds were fairly comfortable. The room seemed to be clean for the most part. One thing that was bothersome was I came back to the room the first morning to use the restroom after breakfast, housekeeping was in the room. I asked her if she could come back a little later as we were going to leave for the day in about 30 minutes or so. Asked if she could just give us a few minutes to get out of the room and come back. She had already made up the beds with our same sheets. She asked if we were checking out or if we were coming back to stay another night. I told her we were coming back and not checking out yet. I thought to myself if she didn’t know if we were checking out or not why would she make up the beds and not replace the sheets!? We left the room and came back at about 10:30 pm. When we returned to our “premium room” which we paid just about 200$ a night for, we found that the “unlimited snacks” that were supposed to be replaced and replenished each day was hardly replaced! Had I realized this was the ONLY perk to being in a “premium” room ( snacks, drinks, and Kuerig coffee) I would have NEVER spent the extra money! I would have saved about 60$ and stopped at the dollar tree and got a few snacks! (The description on the Priceline Website said that this room had 2 Queen beds plus had the “unlimited snacks and drinks” plus was on the premium floor) I understand that it’s not Embassy’s fault Priceline had the room description wrong saying there were queen beds so I don’t fault them for that, it was just disappointing. So upon returning to our room we found housekeeping replaced our “unlimited” snacks with 4 items. A Hershey bar, skittles, small bag trail mix, peanut butter crackers! We were not happy since we paid extra money for this sad little snack box. I took it to the front desk and showed the person working. He said wow and then initially said he was going let the manager of housekeeping know. I told him we were checking out at 7 am so that wasn’t sufficient for me especially since I paid about 200$ a night for this and this was not acceptable. The other person standing along side asked if he could just give me some extra snacks and I accepted. He gave me 3 bags of chips and another 3 pieces of candy. If you book this hotel I would definitely NOT recommend paying extra for a “ Premium” room!!! That is a joke for sure! Just bring some snacks and drinks and save yourself about 60$ a night! But the main issue I had that causes me to completely DISTRUST this hotel is that I paid and walked out with my receipt and had to go back in and ask why I was being charged for a $27.00 movie on my bill on 9/2 the day we were checking out! We ABSOLUTELY 100% did NOT order ANY MOVIES PERIOD LET ALONE A 27$ movie!!!! We weren’t even in the room all day long until about 10:30 pm! my 4 year old was passed out on the sleeper sofa and my husband and I shared the bedroom (with 2 beds) with my mother-in-law! We were all in bed lights and t.v. OFF by midnight because we had to be up by 4:30 a.m. I can only imagine what type of movie cost $27!!! But whatever it was we did NOT watch ANYTHING or even “ accidentally” purchase something! We watched the news about the hurricane until about midnight and by that time everyone was asleep and I personally turned the t.v. Off ! So HOW we were billed for a $27 movie that was supposedly ordered on 9/2 is BEYOND me and VERY SHADY!! I went to the front desk to dispute this and the lady that was coming in on first shift helped the man from 3rd shift take it off my bill. She made a point to tell me that you have to push “ buy “ the movie THREE TIMES!!! I told her NO ONE BOUGHT A MOVIE, WATCHED A BOUGHT MOVIE OR ACCIDENTALLY BOUGHT A MOVIE PERIOD! She said ok that’s fine ma’am. THEN told the other front desk person “There is a way we can tell how much of the movie they watched” REALLY LADY?!?!? AGAIN I said we did NOT watch ANY MOVIE PERIOD! or even accidentally order a movie AT ALL! we shared a room with my mother-in-law and were in the room very little just to sleep! We were in town visiting my son and his family so our time was spent at his apartment and only slept in the room. So then I asked them since you can see how much was watched I would like to know WHAT was supposedly watched AND HOW MUCH was supposedly watched as well! They then said they weren’t able to see what was watched or how much. Okaaaay then what was the point of making that comment in -front of me, other than to call me a liar basically? Smh. OVERALL: hotel Lobby, and public sitting area was very nice! The breakfast buffet was very nice! The room was average. The value of the room was TERRIBLE. The service was poor based on the sad little snack box prepared by housekeeping, not replacing sheets not even knowing if we were checking out, and the snide comments made about being fraudulently charged for a movie. Trust for this brand is a wrap after being charged for something we didn’t do or authorize!! Even if we had a great stay which we didn’t I would absolutely NEVER stay here again based on that alone. This is why i ALWAYS get a receipt printed and review it before leaving the property. We travel a LOT and this is the first time this has happened. So we will never stay at this property again, and probably never stay at an Embassy again. The star I gave is for the breakfast and common areas that are nicely decorated. We were very disappointed... 👎🏾 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
