Awful!

Horrible!! One star is too high. Old, dirty, run down. Staff was very Unaccommodating and the manager was worse. People outside partying very late at night. It took 3 calls to the office before security finally did something. We are Hilton Honors members and have stayed at many nice hotels. This place is sub-par. Don’t waste your money. Tired, Dirty "Resort"

Oxnard is essentially the poor man's Santa Barbara so I wasn't expecting much. That said, this resort is truly a dump in every sense of the word. Built in the 1970s, it appears to have been neglected in the decades since. The rooms are outfitted in worn corporate brown furniture with dirty, brown carpeting and old worn out and dinged particle board desks. The drains in the tub are slow and expect to sand in 3" of water by the end of your shower. The hallways throughout the resort are also dirty with soiled, tattered carpet. The resort has a central tropical "grotto" like layout. This would be nice but the pools are filthy and full of algae. On the plus side, the hotel if very close to the beach. Last thing: If you're a Hilton elite member, don't expect much. They refused to give me a late check out as a Diamond member even though they conceded the resort was empty claiming they were short staffed. Guess that says it all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I Would Not Stay Here Again

Pros: Closest hotel to the beach, large rooms with 2 baths, ample parking. Cons: Very outdated, mold in tub, room did not appear to be clean - especially during Covid, expensive parking charges, furniture in room very old and uncomfortable, LOUD! I was very disappointed with our stay here. Check-in was fine, staff were nice enough and social distancing was happening. But once we got to our room I was SO glad I had Clorox wipes with us! The handle of the fridge looked like it had never been cleaned. There were stains on nearly all the tables. I wiped down everything. We had reservations for 4 nights but they left us 3 bath towels, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth in each bathroom. (we did get more by calling the front desk) The worst part was the noise from other guests. I think about 3 rooms in our hallway had mulitple children and dogs. Every single morning we were woken up around 7am by screaming kids and barking dogs. I would open our door to yell at them but they were actually in their rooms! I guess the walls are thin! Limited pool and no hot tub access during COVID pandemic

Pros: beach front, large heated pool, nicely landscaped property with numerous waterfalls, decent hot breakfast during COVID times (scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausage, french toast, biscuit and gravy), each 2-room suite has 2 full bathrooms, bath towels new and soft, plenty of parking in the underground parking lot on a weekday Cons: outdated exterior and interior, not enough hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the property, happy hour limited to just soft drinks (no more alcohol), must make advance reservations for a 30 minute time slot for pool (minimizes pool crowding due to local health regulations), closed hot tub due to COVID, pool towels old and rough, Oxnard weather can be cold and foggy. Well past its sell by date - needs a FULL renovation.

You can tell when it was built in the 80's that it was a fantastic property. Unfortunately, not much has happened since then. It is a great beach location, but that is about all that can be said for it. The rooms are very old and outdated, with stains, wear and tear everywhere. It might as well not be a suite as the sofa and chair looked so disgusting we would not sit on them. The entire room needs to be gutted and renovated. It had a strong musty smell, and very dark with few lamps that all have dim bulbs. Very cave like. There was an odd number of towels in the room, as if they had not been replenished from the last stay giving you great confidence in that Covid cleaning. There was one hand towel for two bathrooms. The "evening reception" was sodas from a fountain, and your choice of original or honey Chex Mix. Pitiful. The dinner order got no better, as the fish from the fish and chips order was still frozen inside. They did have a good system down for breakfast during Covid, and breakfast was not bad. Do not expect much here for being Honors Diamond. I asked for top floor, and got first floor. By the time I got to the room I decided to just let it go. Wish I had changed, as "Tiny" as we nicknamed them stomped about all evening. The only thing we got as. Diamond was a late check out of 12:30. Glad we only stayed one night as a "test drive". We had planned to come back in the future for a longer stay if we liked it. Needless to say, we will never return. The rates are WAY out of line with the experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
