Services not as offered

So we choose this Embassy Suites on the basis of evening reception and breakfast being offered (Hilton app). Neither of these were available so felt deceived. Price was very low so not complaining too hard, problem was that it affected my decision process. They had a great bar area in the lobby, not sure whether it’s a state problem or lack of management that they can’t pull this together. Room was smaller than most Embassy Suites we have stayed at before. Location is difficult, given all of the above would choose Homewood Suites next time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had planned to stay 2 nights but left after 1. We have stayed at several other properties that are still managing good service even during COVID19. 1st-We called prior to booking and the recording says that they are having a managers reception and a hot breakfast. Of course they aren't and haven't been for some time. In fact the bar and restaurant are closed 2nd-The front desk looks like a disaster area. Old wrinkled plastic and you talk through a hole in the plastic. 3rd- I called the front desk 5 times (3 from "inside" 2 on my cell phone) and the desk never answered. I went down and there were 2 employees sitting there chatting on cell phones. I asked them if they had been there a while and they both said yes. They said they "must have missed my call". 4th- We were there on a weekday and it did not appear as if there was anyone else in the hotel...we asked about an upgrade (we are Hilton GOLD members)? Answer-Nope we don't do that. If you are planning Thanksgiving, Christmas or ANY other travel we would suggest that you avoid this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pick another hotel!

Seriously disappointed in this hotel. We have been Hilton Honors members for a long time and only stay in Hilton properties when we travel. This is the worst Hilton property we've ever been to. As soon as we opened the door to the room the musty/moldy smell almost knocked us over. From the water stains we easily spotted on the ceiling it's obvious there was a water leak in the room that was not taken care of properly - thus the overwhelming smell of mold. The next thing we noticed were stains on the sofa. The water in the bathroom took forever to get warm. The extremely loud gathering in the lobby/bar that was allowed to go well past midnight was made even louder by the acoustics of the out-dated open atrium style of this hotel. There was not a room in the hotel that couldn't hear this obnoxious noise. For a glimpse at how little this hotel cares about appearances, refer to the attached picture to see the bargain-basement way they decided to COVIDize their front desk. The only reason I gave this property a score of poor and not terrible was because the breakfast staff was very personable and professional. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The is the worst hamptom hotel that I ever stayed and then they even denied but I took pictures of the infestation they have and they switched me to another room and the new room smells like it was just exterminate TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great staff!

Hello, we just stayed here for two nights for a soccer tournament and had a very nice stay, except for the rainy weather due to remnants of hurricane Delta... rained all weekend. Anyhow, I wanted to say I really appreciated the hotel staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. I especially wanted to thank and compliment Lucille in housekeeping. After a wet game of soccer, my son had soaking socks and cloths that needed to be dried prior to his next game the same day. Lucille was at the front desk and kindly offered to dry them for us instead of us having to use the coin machines. Very kind of her and much appreciated! Additionally, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The hot breakfast and open bar in the evenings were good too. We have stayed here a few times now over the years and will be coming back when in Williamsburg. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
