Wonderful location for all the shopping your heart desires :) and the parks as well. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facility was clean and extremely convenient for all of my needs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

See and smell your room before you check in.....

Jan 17th, 2020

We had to stay here for my husband's work. I read the reviews and thought, "It's and Embassy Suites, how bad could it be? It's ${% APP_HTML %}quot; About 30 people from all over the US come here for a government conference. Nearly everyone complained about the room. We were first in a Lanai room, floor 1. It was completely overwhelmingly musty. I get it, it is warm and humid in Florida. However, we had just stayed 2 nights in a much Cheaper Courtyard hotel, and there was no musty smell, or a horrid fragrance "trying to cover up the mustiness" We requested to be moved to the main building, 3rd floor. Better, but one corner of the room had wet carpet...the neighbor's AC unit, we think. Beds in both rooms were not great. Sure, the staff was nice and helpful. It's not their fault that Hilton has let this place get so run down. The lobby areas were great. Breakfast was good. Pools ok. This was so expensive, plus the "resort fee"--trust me, there are better, cheaper options. Sorry to be so harsh, but it is the truth. I travel a lot for my work, and I stay at mid-range hotels, so my expectations are not high. And quit texting me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Absolutely Horrible Experience

Jan 16th, 2020

We checked in 2 days after Christmas for 5 nights. We are Diamond Members and have stayed at hundreds of Hilton brand properties with only 2 or 3 issues over the years. We arrived at 4:00pm, check-in time, and it was 6:30 when our room was ready. While waiting for the room, we sat in the reception area and had a time share salesperson actually sit down with us and try to sell us a timeshare visit while we were stuck waiting for our room. When we finally checked in, the room’s heat and air unit was making a high pitched noise and our curtains were half way ripped off their hooks. There was long hair on the tub. I cleaned the tub with Clorox wipes and called maintenance. Maintenance guy said he could not hear the high pitch, and I said it was probably the filter and asked him to change it. He did not seem to understand and blew me off. This never got resolved and we ended up putting our white noise machine next to the unit to block the noise. He said he would go get a ladder and be back in 5 minutes to fix the curtain. He returned at least an hour later, which was after our kid’s bedtime, and we had the kiddo stay awake until he returned. Then it gets much, much worse. The group of teenage boys in the room next to us start to party. They are part of a large group of traveling ball players staying in the hotel. There are no adults staying in their room and they have no supervision. They partied all night, going in and out of their room over and over again. The door on their room was very heavy and slammed shut all night, every 5 minutes as they ran the halls. I called the front desk after midnight and asked if these boys would be here the duration of our stay and was told they would be. I told them I would most likely be checking out in the morning. They did not even ask what was going on because they already knew and did not seem to care. The person at the front desk just said ‘okay”. We did not sleep that night. It was sad to see my little girl curled up in a ball on the bed sobbing at 3:00am because she was desperate to sleep and couldn’t due to noise. The next morning, we noticed the boys had checked out! We were thrilled and decided to stay. The day was peaceful except for the same timeshare lady, who actually chased us out into the parking lot screaming my name and asking me if I had decided to go on their timeshare trip. We went to bed that night and were startled awake at 11:30pm by more loud teenage boys that had just checked into the room next to us. Another ball team, without chaperones in their room, who were there to party. They were 100% worse than the boys from the night before. I am perplexed why a nice hotel would allow large groups of teenagers to stay in a room without adults, but this seems to be the norm for this hotel. We tried to call the front desk and no one answered. My hubby went down there to complain and an adult with their group, staying in another room, was actually at check in and heard him. That person went to talk to the boys. This made the boys angry, and they pretty much terrorized us all night. I tried to call the front desk, again there was no answer. I put on my clothes and went to the front desk. I told them what was going on and asked for the manager. I was told the manager was busy and he would call me. I said I would wait for the manager and was then told to go back to my room cause it would be a long time before he could get to me. The manager never called. The next morning, after 2 nights with no sleep, I went down to tell them we were checking out and gave them the reasons. The lady at the front desk was super helpful, and offered us 40,000 points to make up for the 2 nights (which we had spent 100,000 points in at 50,000 points per night). She also said those boys had checked out and she would block that room off for the rest of our stay if we would stay the 3 more nights of our booking. That sounded great to me, as we were too tired to drive 10 hours home. We decided to have a lazy day at the hotel due to exhaustion. We noticed the maid cart was at the room next to us and we decided to go to the outdoor recreation area so she could get to our room without us in her way. We went outside and the, pool sticks were broken, the balls for the other games were completely squashed and we went back inside, sat down and got some Starbucks and watched TV in the reception area. We could see the maid was still in the room next to ours, for a very long time. Turns out the boys had trashed the room and punched a hole in the wall, which explains why my bed was actually moving by itself when they were hitting the wall. We had an excellent night’s sleep that night and were awakened very early in the morning to maintenance beginning repairs in the room next door. We decided to get up,have breakfast and go sightseeing. We returned after lunch and our room smelled like super strong chemicals from the construction going on next to us. The windows do not open in the room, so we decided to check out for our health. We were hacking while we packed up our luggage. I went down and spoke with Brook, explained our situation and she was super helpful, so I thought. She said she would refund the 50,000 points for the 4th night we weren’t going to stay (our 5th night was a freebie, so it was not refundable, which is totally understandable). She also offered us 125,000 points for our troubles, which was awesome. She gave us waters for our long drive home, took the parking fee off our bill and was super sweet. 3 weeks later and there were no points showing up except the 40,000 from the first 2 nights. I called the Hilton Diamond number and they called the hotel. Nothing had ever been done too refund those points. They spoke to Brooke and she told them the most they could do was 100,000 points. There was no mention of the 50,000 points for the unused night. I agreed to this but was not happy since it was different than I was told, but anything is better than than nothing. So far, 10,000 points have shown up in my account since the Diamond desk stepped in. Not sure if this is from this hotel or something else since we also stayed at 4 other Hilton Properties in the past few weeks and sometimes we get point bonuses for stays. So far, this issue is not resolved and we will never stay here again. I was not the only guest upset at this hotel. There was someone at the front desk reporting an issue every time we were in line as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t stay here

Jan 13th, 2020

Number of different things. 1.Checked in on line and let them know we would be there at 1600.arrived at 1615 and room was t ready 2.Paid $13 a day for parking only to have the gate not work. After checking in had to return to lobby 3 times to get a key card because it would work the gate. Finally the lady at the desk said she should call maintenance to fix it. You think! Next day same thing gate didn’t work. I think my parking charges should be refunded for the aggravation of it all. 3. Put us in a room over looking the dumpster. They empty the dumpster around 6am. Great wake up call on vacation 4. Had the worst meal in my life at your restaurant. We ordered to go meals. My wife ordered Marquetta pizza. So much grease it wasn’t funny. Ruined a shirt because grease ran off on to the shirt. I had chicken wings. Thought they tasted funny they did because they were not cooked all the way, raw in the middle with blood coming out. We were so disgusted with the place we just went to Denny’s it was a million steps above the restaurant 4. The most infuriating events was the fact that you could enjoy a meal with some sleazy time sales salesperson trying to hit you up. Even when we were waiting for our Togo order we had a sales person want to give me points for being a nice guy then when I told him I wasn’t interested in the timeshare BS he kept trying to convince me telling me he was changing people lives by selling them time shares. I don’t go to Hilton hotels so I can be pressured into a time share. In fact I leave Thursday for 20 days to Tuscon Az, today I canceled my reservation at the Hilton so I would be bothered by sake people. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
