Great stay

Jul 26th, 2020

My friend and I along with her kids stayed Jul 21-23. We stayed in the 2br 2 1/2bath presidential suite. Upon checking in and checking out was warmly greeted. Breakfast due to covid was a bagged and had a banana, orange, yogurt, and a Danish/bearclaw. Room was clean and we'll maintained. After housekeeping cleans rooms, they do place a big sticker on the door frame and the door, which allows one to know the room was clean and sanitized. There was a king bed in the master with a jetted Jun and separate shower. The guest bathroom had 2 queen beds and a shower/tub combo. There was a half bath/water closet next to the front door. There was a small, but adequate kitchen with a dishwasher, 2 burner stove, and full size fridge. There was a huge dining room table. Pool area was nice and even had a fire pit area. There was a stand with fresh towels for pool use. Due to covid...there is no valet, which means it's self park in the garage. The garage did recognize the digital key on entering, but not on exit. This resulted in having to push the help button to be let out each time. Forsyth Park is nearby, which has a beautiful fountain and playgrounds for children. Otherwise was a great stay and look forward to returning again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay was just okay, management needs to have accurate info on website

Jul 7th, 2020

We chose to stay at this property due to it’s convenience to the area we wanted to visit while in town, as well as the amenities the website stated would be provided. While the room was decently cleaned and was okay other than needing some updates and more detailed cleaning efforts, the amenities such as a hot breakfast and the evening reception as advertised on the website were not accurate. While I understand the reasoning is due to the COVID restrictions, the property managers need to be more diligent about accurate information being relayed to guest beforehand on the website. It’s quite deceiving. With restaurants and bars being open in the area, there’s no reason a patron would simply assume these amenities, especially when advertised with no verbiage stating otherwise, would not be available. Overall, the stay was okay. Just be sure to check in before hand if the “extras” are big factors in your booking. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Slept so poorly, left at 4am

Jul 4th, 2020

Booked a 2 room suite, not to be confused with a 2 bedroom so some of the family slept on the pullout sofa. Room 317 had seen better days and the air conditioning was broken (blasted ice cold air every half hour all night) waking everyone up each time despite the us trying to change the thermostat settings. Lots of people partying here, but perhaps because of the July 4th weekend and Covid-19. Wouldn't recommend if you are concerned about Covid. Despite the staff wearing masks, there is no requirement for non-staff to wear masks. We had to walk out of our elevator after a family tried to get on with us not wearing anything. Also, windows don't open at all in the room, so no way to get fresh air. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely place to stay in a lovely town

Jun 28th, 2020

Beautiful lobby and really friendly and helpful staff. Suites are not huge but they are a good size. Our family of 5 managed quite well in the queen suite with pullout couch. The table in thr living room/litchen area was large enough for video games. I lived the eggs cooked to order at breakfast. The coffee could be a bit stronger but was decent. The only a few things that can be improved. Fitness center had mostly cardio and limited free weights. The closets in the room were awkward. No rack in the front closet, just an ironing board. It would have been nice to hang jackets there. Also we could not open the closet door in the bedroom unless the door between the living room and bedroom was closed. Awkward design. The wine at the evening reception was mediocre, but hey.. it was free. Bartenders were nice. Staff at breakfast was incredibly friendly and attentive. Most things in Savannah could be reached on foot from the hotel and they let you stay in the parking garage for a few hours after you chexk out. This was helpful. There was a beautiful tree in the lobby, which was lovely on its own. We were quite happy with our stay. We would consider staying there again. If we did not, it would only be because we want to stay at a hotel on river St for the view and action :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Needs updates in rooms- no breakfast or evening reception because of COVID

Jun 21st, 2020

This hotel was rated high so I chose it for a 2 night getaway with friends. We got a 2 bedroom suite that looked very different from the website pictures. The couch looked like it was there for 20 years and the table chairs were mismatched. There was dust on the bedside lamps that looked like they had never been cleaned. The bathrooms looked updated, but a closer look and the drain covers were full of rust. When we arrived we found out the restaurant was not open, even though a majority of restrictions were lifted from COVID. No hot breakfast and no evening reception. This was a main reason we stayed here, and were disappointed to find out it wasn’t offered. When I asked for some sort of reimbursement since we would now need to pay for breakfast both days, they told us it was already reflected in the rate. The hotel did not measure up to our expectations and frankly we were a bit embarrassed since we praised the Embassy Suites brand to our friends before arriving. Very disappointed and won’t stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
