Overview

Popular on-site restaurant and rooftop pool
Recent guests say rooms look worn and could use renovations

Located just one block west of Central Park, The Empire Hotel offers high-end amenities like a pool deck, a rooftop bar and lounge and a casual dining option, P.J. Clarke's that serves burgers, seafood and more. Specializing in a laid-back atmosphere, each of the 426 accommodations features modern accents and upscale extras like C.O. Bigelow toiletries, iPod docking stations and Frette linens. The hotel is situated in a convenient spot for those attending events at the Lincoln Center or Jazz at Lincoln Center. However, some recent visitors do cite lacking customer service and a high noise level as two major drawbacks. Many also mention the rooms are outdated and could use a refresh.
